Forgot how cringe the first episode is but it gets really good. Hope it does well on your channel! Fun facts: The show is based on a book series by L. J. Smith. It premiered in 2009 and ended in 2017 after 8 seasons. It has had two spin-off shows: The Originals and Legacies (haven't watched Legacies but The Originals is SO good). Creators Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec were also writers/producers for the most of the Scream movies. Ashlee Simpson was the CW network's first choice for Elena, while Zach Roerig (Matt), Michael Trevino (Tyler) and Paul Wesley (Stefan) originally auditioned for Damon. Nina Dobrev (Elena) and Paul Wesley have both admitted that they didn't like each other for the first few months of filming. They later became good friends (and still are). The pilot was filmed in Vancouver but the rest of the series was filmed in Covington, Georgia. Also, you don't seem to have noticed Katherine looks IDENTICAL to Elena (it's the same actress), hence Damon's "dead ringer for Katherine" comment. Nina Dobrev is Bulgarian/Canadian and her full name is Nina Kamenova Dobreva. She was in Degrassi: The Next Generation and has been in movies such as Too Young To Marry, The Poet, Fugitive Pieces, The American Mall, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Let's Be Cops, The Final Girls, Flatliners, XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Dog Days and Love Hard. She and Ian Somerhalder (Damon) were in a relationship for a few years during the show. She is now in a relationship with snowboarder/skateboarder and Olympic Gold medallist Shaun White and co-owns a wine brand with her friend, dancer/actress Julianne Hough. Paul Welsey is of Polish descent and his full name is Paweł Tomasz Wasilewski. His first role was on the soap opera Guiding Light where he starred alongside Brittany Snow (from Pitch Perfect, John Tucker Must Die, Prom Night). He's had recurring/guest roles in 24, Smallville, The O.C., Everwood, American Dreams, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Law & Order: SVU, Cold Case and Army Wives. He starred in the miniseries The Fallen as well as the shows Tell Me a Story & Flowers in the Attic: The Origin and movies such as Killer Movie (a comedy horror/slasher movie where he met and starred with his ex-wife Torrey DeVitto), Elsewhere, Before I Dissappear, The Late Bloomer and Mothers & Daughters. He currently stars in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Ian Somerhalder had guest starred in TV shows like CSI and Law & Order when he got his first regular role on LOST. He is married to Nikki Reed who played Rosalie Cullen in Twilight. Since 2020, he and Paul have owned the whiskey brand Brother's Bond Bourbon. Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy) also starred in Everwood and later, Chicago Fire. He is the grandson and namesake of legendary actor Steve McQueen who was popular in the 1950s to 70s. He is also cousin to Enrique Iglesias and Julio Iglesias Jr. Interestingly he is one year older than Nina who plays his older sister. Kat Graham (Bonnie) is a singer as well as an actress and has appeared in several music videos. She also had minor roles in The Parent Trap and 17 Again, along with playing Jada Pinkett Smith in a Tupac biopic called All Eyez on Me. Candice Accola (Caroline) is also a singer and toured as a backing vocalist for Miley Cyrus in 2007/2008 and appeared in her 3D concert movie. From 2014-2022 she was married to musician Joe King from the band The Fray who sing the song at the end! Zach Roerig (Matt) had a few recurring roles on soaps like As The World Turns and One Life to Live. He and Candice also dated for a year during the show. Kayla Ewell (Vicki) has starred in movies such as Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan and Material Girls with Hilary & Haylie Duff. She has appeared in various TV shows such as Freaks and Geeks, The O.C., Roswell, New Mexico and The Bold and the Beautiful. Her husband, Tanner Novlan, is currently starring in the last one. Michael Trevino (Tyler) has also starred in Roswell, New Mexico along with Summerland, 90210, The Riches and Cane. Sara Canning (Aunt Jenna) is only one and two years older than Nina and Steven who play her niece and nephew.

Interestingly enough, Paul Wesley played a werewolf in an old cancelled tv show called Wolf Lake. Lou Diamond Phillips, Graham Greene, and Tim Matheson, are some major names who starred in the show as well. As a fan of old cancelled television shows and shows that are obscure, the episodes are on YouTube. Only one season though. I was around three years old when this show aired. It was subsequently cancelled in the same year (2001) so I didn’t get to see it on tv but for anyone interested, it was a pretty good show from watching its few episodes on YouTube. It’s a shame its visual material is so small due to its early cancellation. It’s the type of show I would love to watch now that I’m the age that I am now.
