Hey, just wanted to thank you guys for the excellent discussion and the delicate handling. This episode is one I hated back then and wasn't keen to rewatch, but the reaction and discussion made it worth it.

From what I remember, this was the episode where the tide started to change and people started addressing the amount of assault on the show. I think probably (not a spoiler, since they are already things you've watched) having already changed prior encounters that were consensual in the book, like Dany and Drogo and Cersei and Jamie when their son died (as wrong as it was, it wasn't assault in the book) and making them violent already tipped the scale when we got to this one. Because the greatest asset that GoT has is that it injects some real social dynamics into the world of classic fantasy, and doesn't shy away from how bad medieval court reality was for most women and minorities, there was already enough violence against them, so why change things to have even more? Anyway, at least the conversations on this channel around all of this and the other themes the show brings up are really great!
