Soul Shredder

Weapon (sickle), rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

An instrument of both death and song, this weapon invites demise anywhere it's terrible tune can be heard. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magical weapon. This weapon has the Versatile (1d6) property. While you hold it, you gain a +2 bonus to spell attack rolls, and can be used as a musical instrument if you are proficient in string instruments.

Entrap Spirit. This weapon can hold up to six charges. Whenever a creature (CR 3 or higher) you can see is reduced to 0 hit points within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to have this instrument capture the soul of the creature. If you do, this weapon regains a charge. A creature whose soul has been captured by this item can be restored to life only by a Wish spell.

Shred Soul. While attuned to this weapon, you can spend a charge to cast the Shred Soul* spell from this item, bloodying your fingers on the strings in the frenzy and providing the blood for its material components. When you cast the Shred Soul spell while attuned to this weapon, you can spend a number of charges to increase the spell level by the number of charges spent. The spell level cannot exceed your highest level spell slot.

Unearthly Dirge. As a bonus action you can spend 2 charges to play a ghastly melody from this instrument. You may target a number of creatures of your choice up to your proficiency bonus within 60 feet of you that can hear this melody. Each creature you choose must make a Charisma saving throw using your spell save DC. On a failed save the target makes their next saving throw or attack roll with disadvantage.

*Shred Soul spell by Confused Clerics.

Wicked and awesome, this maleficent musical instrument commands both terror and attention as any who hear the discordant notes that erupt from it find themselves gripped by madness. Legends claim that it came to be in our world by way of an ungodly wager, but over time many minstrels have plucked at the strings, long crusted with blood over years of use. Following every concert where it was present, numerous beings would be found hollow and empty as if the melody somehow coaxed their souls from their fragile bodies.

Shred Soul     [By Confused Clerics]

4th-level Enchantment

Casting Time: 1 Action

Range: 60 feet

Components: V, S, M (blood from yourself)

Duration: Instantaneous / 1 minute

By casting this spell you attempt to utterly disturb and thus shred the soul of an enemy. You unleash a shimmering beam of psychic power at a creature that you can see within range. Alternatively, you can utter a creature's name. If the named target is within range, it becomes the spell's target even if you can't see it. If the named target isn't within range, the beam dissipates without effect. Make a ranged spell attack. On a hit the target takes 3d10 of psychic damage as its soul is being ripped out of its deepest corner of its body. You learn what the creature's worst dreads are and how you can manipulate them to your advantage. The target must either make an Intelligence saving throw or a Wisdom saving throw (your choice). If it fails the Intelligence saving throw the creature lives through its worst nightmares in the most brutal way, putting it utterly off its stride. For the duration of one minute your target has disadvantage on any attack roll made (the saving throw can be repeated every turn). If it fails the Wisdom saving throw the creature's worst nightmares manifest within you. It sees all his fears and dreads in you. Your target is henceforth frightened from you for the duration of one minute (the saving throw can be repeated every turn).

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th.

The battle lasted for some time now, everyone was exhausted. Lo! Out of sudden the bandit attacked again targeting the monster hunter trying to finally bring him down. As the mage saw her dear friend in utter need, she choose to cast a spell long forgotten...
