LUX Fight League has an interesting prospect in Mauricio Alfonso. Alfonso os from Venezuela and is a bantamweight with an unbeaten 5-0 record. Even as an amateur Alfonso went 4-0 so he's never lost in MMA.

He's dangerous everywhere but he's more safe on the mat. I don't rate his wrestling too highly but he does a good job at timing takedowns when guys are coming forward. Alfonso isn't a submission threat but he does have smashing ground and pound. Not the most technical grappler but he is strong and scrambles well.

On the feet, he has a ton of holes but he is dangerous. Alfonso has some big power in his hands and would benefit more if he threw more than hooks. Yes, at times he throws a power jab and goes to the body but he needs to do more of it. If he can mix up his hands better he's gonna be super dangerous. Defensively there is concerns. He sits in the pocket too long, doesn't move his head, and is too willing to brawl. He's been dropped before which isn't gonna change if he doesn't tighten up his defense.

Alfonse is nicknamed "The Hammer" which is fitting but with how he's been performing he's gonna end up at the nail. A fun fighter to watch and he's only 25. I'd like to see him stop fighting car salesman and actually get a tough challenge.
