I first learned about Magomed Kadimagomedov when he was drafted in the Prospect Grand Prix I run. I wasn't initially impressed at all but I'm a little higher on him now. There is still some big concerns but he has a lot of potential. Kadimagomedov is based out of Russia but lives and trains out of Belgium. He only had one fight as an amateur and is 4-0 as a pro so he's never lost a fight.

Kadimagomedov reminds me of a smaller version of Felix Klinkhammer. Kadimagomedov on the feet throws a lot of kicks from different angles. He isn't the most technical but does a good job of being unpredictable. I wouldn't rate his striking too high because he needs a lot of sharpening around the edges.

Kadimagomedov is at best when working takedowns and controlling on the mat. His wrestling could be better from a technical standpoint. He has a high work-rate and his pressure helps him eventually work to the mat. On the mat is where he shows some technical ability. He's good at wrist control and lacing to legs to keep his position. He's pretty methodical on top and will slowly transition to find a dominant position and sometimes a finish.

Kadimagomedov is a work in progress. He could turn out to be really good. His cardio is a big concern and so is his striking defense. He's only 27 so he has a lot of time to develop into a promising prospect. It will be interesting to see where he's at two years from now.
