Hyder Amil is 32-years-old so he is borderline a prospect under my terms. He is only seven fights into his career so fight milage is still a little low. He's a student under the well-known Gilbert Melendez. Amil fought in Bellator from 2018-2019 and went 3-0. Recently, over the last year, Amil has fought for LFA and has gone 3-0 there as well. He's coming over a main event win besting contender series veteran Chase Gibson.

Amil is the perfect definition of a fighter's fighter. There are these high-level prospects we know and then there are these rising up-and-comers that we all watch for. Outside of that, we have guys like Amil who are just plain fun to watch. I'm not saying he has skills but is more exciting to watch than anything.

"The Hurricane" is gonna bring the storm from start to finish. Amil is going to constantly press forward throwing his hands. He does walk right into shots usually taking a lot of damage in his fights. Amil is incredibly tough and can walk through about anything to dish out his entree. He's a head hunter mainly but at times mixes it up to the body. Amil throws some good kicks as well and he's been sneaky going to the head. There hasn't been that one-punch knockout but Amil has a lot of power in everything he throws. It's a reason Amil slows in the late rounds because he puts so much into everything he throws. Even when drained of energy Amil still holds the same power and never takes a back step.

Amil has gaps defensively. His striking defense like already mentioned is lackluster. He walks in straight lines with no form of footwork and no setups or feints. He's been taken down with very little resistance. He will almost every time go to his knees and give up his back. As shown in his fight with Gibson he can have a strong grappler on his back threatening and survive tough spots. Amil doesn't have the best grappling defense but is competent enough to hold his own.

Amil is one of the most exciting fighters today. He doesn't have a great win but a few really good wins. He's undefeated, in his prime right now, ties to Melendez, and is a treat to watch so what's not to like? Amil is someone that's gonna fight for your money and go out on his shield win or lose. Hopefully, we get him in a big promotion soon.
