Davi Costa (12-3) was just another Brazilian fighter beating cans until his most recent fight. It was last July in LFA when he made a big statement beating a good prospect in Eduardo Henrique. He trains out of Paraná Vale Tudo and is on a nice eight-fight win streak. He’s got an awkward striking style with some tricky kicks in his arsenal. Costa is a Brazilian kickboxing champion so you can see why. Costa is a BJJ purple belt and a CBJJO world champion. He’s a better grappler than anything and has some decent wrestling. He headlines Shooto Brasil this week fighting for the title on UFC Fight Pass.

Makoto Takahashi (14-1) has only two finishes and even though that’s not too exciting it says a lot about his gas tank. His stand-up is decent. He throws good volume but the technique is a work in progress. Takahashi is a strong grappler though and will even pull guard at times. He’s really smooth in transitions and taking the back. Not a huge submission threat but will break someone with his constant movement. Takahashi is making his US debut and for CFFC so this is a big fight for him.

I know the flyweight division from inside and out but Joseph Camacho (4-0) has slipped right by me. He has solid wins over good prospects in Alden Coria and Desmond Torres. Camacho is a tough customer that doesn't know how to go away. Defensively he's not great but his work rate is no match. His left hand is heavy and accurate. Wrestling is there when needed and has a solid ground game. There is gaps on the mat but is a submission threat. What I like most about Camacho is his inability to go away.

I'm not sold on Jayson Scott (3-0) but he's making the list. Scott, unbeaten as a pro he had a 12-2 amateur record and was a five-time amateur champion. Scott has fought between bantamweight and flyweight and this time it's a flyweight. He's a long 125er that uses his length very well. On the feets it's not as clean but is a strong submission grappler. Scott between a pro and an amateur has eleven submission wins. He's aggressive once it hits on the mat taking the back, and attacking the neck, and the limbs.
