So you actually weren’t super off the mark about the origins of the Akibarangers, the Unoffical team. It was an anniversary season that essentially took the piss out of itself, while also giving fans a backstage look at the production of the different shows. They do this by having the red ranger be a super fan of the show who whenever they get to a landmark used for multiple battles he will fan boy over being there himself, as well as many other callbacks to the series from cameos from actors, to shining a spot light on the fight crew. It’s a fun watch even if you don’t have a super deep understanding of the series as a whole because it lays everything out in a very casual way. It’s also incredibly short even for having 2 seasons.
