Tail: I originally wanted it to be nightfall and the lighting be a lot more atmospheric, but Jessica wanted it to be earlier in the day... for other reasons…

Jess: We can cover one of the reasons later so there;s no spoilers, but the main one was it was spring, and I wanted the shot to really show off the drastic difference between the past flashback, both in season and tone. This page though... oh god one of my favorite character entrances ever.

Tail: It's also one of the most unfortunate exits ever, because Rolf is leaving the scene. Tsk. Can't win them all, Jessica…

Jess: Yus... farewell tiny Rolph, Hello giant Fox booty. Also- this double take hare does is... amazing

Tail: You'll see it a lot more as we go, but a lot of the frames have a certain activeness to them. I mainly animate for my work, and it makes it's way into my stills and drawings. And sublimates through my comic frames as well. That double take being the first example of that.

Jess: That's one of the things I love about working with you, besides capturing whats in my head.. you have this amazing knack for capturing bodies in motion from stills like... its a real gift.

Tail: I'll have to send a thank you card to whomever gifted it to me. Fun fact: this is the slowest page to draw so far. At just over 6 hours. Most likely because of the detailed background and so many instances of both characters…

Jess: and it took them probably less than a minute to read it... alas... this is our life

shall we move ahead and unveil... THE FOX?

Tail: You're too pleased...I must say, this is such a nice reveal though. It reads well.
