Note: The current server uses 3 x 8TB drives without raid, for a total capacity of 24TB, 21TB usable. No redundancy, and 0% failure acceptable.
Total price for parts: $1750 + $5400 + $60 = $7210 USD
Already donated to the new server project:
ZizzyDizzyMC: $1000 (Set aside, more may be available pending dental work.)
Anonymous: $1000
Donations pledged / made outside of a fundraising website are not subject to that site's fees, which means more of it ends up in the server directly.
Patreon helps cover the monthly expenses of running the archive. We currently have enough (projected) to pay for the monthly hosting cost of both servers. This may change pending a new quote from my colocation provider.
If you would like to donate / pledge before an GoFundMe / Indiegogo is set up please contact me.
On a personal note, I'd really like to take a moment to thank everyone along the road who've made this archive possible. It's a really wonderful learning experience for myself while I get to help so many others. Really couldn't have done it without you guys. Can't really believe how far we've come in 3 years.
A different personal note: I have a tooth ache, and it really hurts. Thank goodness for the comfort of plushies!
