Hello Patrons 🤍

I recently came back from a short trip from Quebec. I celebrated Thanksgiving with my partner’s family! 🍂🪵

I was very fortunate enough to catch the fall colours. We also had some gloomy weather and cold rain. So I was inspired to create this moody piece! I love doing witchtober because of the versatility of the themes—from magical to spooky! haha ✨

I will post the process sometime this week! Happy Friday the 13th!! 👻🕯🎃

Love always,

Maxine

I love how moody this piece is! Thanks for another helpful process tutorial--as always, I learn so much from all of your process pieces and I look forward to them everytime! I'm curious about how easy it is for you to do revisions if you work on very few layers?

Hi Michelle! Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the process breakdown! 🥰 With pieces like this, the process for doing revisions is surprisingly not too difficult. I’ve kept the brushstrokes pretty loose so if I have to draw over something, the strokes will be easy to replicate. However, I always make sure to keep the character and any subjects in the foreground separate from the background. Since they are the main focus of the painting and arguably the first thing the people will look at, I always aim to ensure they’re on separate layers. That way if I have to make a colour change I can just quickly adjust that layer! I hope that helps 🥰
