Hello Patrons! 🤍

I’ve attached the timelapse videos for Baby Blue Spring ☁️🌸

Here’s the order of how you should watch them to follow along:

Here are the references that I used:

I wanted to work with many pastel blues here to match the dress and the baby blue flowers, so I decided to see how to change the architectural design to match the colour scheme. 💕✨

I also wanted to try painting an architectural piece on Procreate since I’ve been so accustomed to Photoshop when it comes to working with more extensive illustrations. I decided to combine my brushes and Max Ulchiney’s Watercolour pack. 😊🤍

After I’m quite happy with the composition, I transfer the file to Photoshop to make adjustments to the colours:

( I used both programs since I still can’t get the colours right when I paint on Procreate since it doesn’t have the adjustment layers to make quick fixes to the palette)

After that, I continue to work on the painting on Procreate. For the final touches, I transferred it again to Photoshop to clean up some areas.

Yesterday, I worked on the piece a bit more because something was missing about it.

I made a side-by-side comparison as to why I decided to make those changes:

A. I painted the side to match the angle of the building

B. I added and softened the shadows of the pillars. The previous one looked too flat and stood out too much.

C. I decided to play around with the shadow tone, so I added pinker and extended the shadow a bit more

D. I added highlights to the character and the top of the wisteria tree to bring more attention to the right side of the painting.

That's all for me today! Thank you so much for your support. It means so much! I'm so excited for spring and for flowers to bloom here!🥹🌸🌸🤍🤍

Love always,

Maxine
