Moonlight Blossom 🌸- Timelapse Video + Thought Process (Patreon)

Hello Patrons! 🤍🌸

Here’s my latest painting! I was feeling a little stuck with my ideas, so I decided to draw this pose I found on Pinterest (credit):

I started sketching the image on Procreate just for fun. At first, I wanted to feature a small fairy with the character but decided to focus on the boat and flowers.  

I usually find that when I paint without any clear idea/vision from the start, I tend to have fun with it, go with the flow, and see what kind of surprises can work with the composition. 😊✨

Personally, this workflow only seems to work on Procreate. If I try this on Photoshop, I tend to be more careful with my process in terms of perspective, linework, etc. 

After painting on Procreate, I decided to take a break from this painting and look at it with fresh eyes the next day. 

I noticed something off about the boat, so I gathered another reference and decided to tilt the boat to match the horizon's perspective. 

I continued to work on the painting in Photoshop to clean up some of the brushwork and render it a bit more. 

I decided to add more depth to the image by adding a gaussian blur to some of the flowers at the top. 🌸🌸

I continued to render the flowers just to give them more definition and added more petals around the painting. 

I added more sparkles and adjusted the colours for finishing touches to make the painting more vibrant. 

I'm quite happy with how it turned out! Pink and blue is my favourite combination so this was so much fun to paint! 🌸🌸
