Raven Frost 🖤❄️ - Photoshop Process + Timelapse Videos (Patreon)

Sorry for the late post! I wanted to post this yesterday but got caught up with another project! Here’s the process for “Raven Frost.” I wanted to do most of the painting in Procreate, so most of the process is recorded in the timelapse videos. I’m trying to get more comfortable not relying on too many adjustment layers in Photoshop to get more organic colour palettes. I also want to try experimenting with more textures and brushstrokes in my work. 

I’ve been feeling a little stagnant with my workflow, so I want to change it up and add more organic shapes to my art, similar to mid-century illustrations using traditional mediums. 🥰 ❄️

If you look at the beginning stage of this piece, I was not too happy with the composition and felt it needed some more depth. I’m at that funk in my artistic journey where I want to experiment with different compositions but still fear that it might not turn out the way I want. 

So much trial and error were involved; I played around with the distortion and perspective tools to create a slightly slanted composition. 

I also wanted to let go of making things look too perfect. I think with architecture I always try to make it as accurate as possible, but sometimes there’s a charm when there’s a bit of whimsy involved, so I want to have more fun with creating architectural pieces :)
