Thank you for voting in the latest poll! Since Cozy Room won the vote, I wanted to create something whimsical. ✨

I wanted to play along with the meaning of "cozy" and how the word can be interpreted differently. When I get stressed or need a break, I always turn to stories or films, and shows as an escape. For this painting, I wanted to stray away from just painting a cozy room but having a bit more of a playful theme to this. 😊

I knew I wanted to create a piece that features a character drifting away in her dreams while the blanket around her transforms into woods and forests she has read about in her books. 📚

I tested different compositions and wanted to see how I could convey the story elements. 

Ultimately, I decided to opt-out of the background to focus on the details and the character. I wanted to challenge myself by telling a story through the flow of the objects around the character. 

I made this piece with Procreate using my custom brushes and as well as some of the watercolour brushes from MaxPack. I've attached the timelapse videos that show my process from start to finish. For finishing touches, such as the colour adjustments and fine-tuning the details, I transferred it to Photoshop. 

I really enjoyed making this piece and want to explore more playful themes like this next time! Let me know what you think! 😊
