Autumnal Gathering - Process (Patreon)

How are you doing today? 

Here’s my new painting process for the Autumnal Gathering! 🍂☕️🪵

I originally wanted to set the mood for a midday picnic but decided to change it up and challenge myself by painting a moonlit scene!

I actually don't hold a lot of picnics during fall since it can get really chilly but I do appreciate seeing photos of picnic gatherings in the forests filled with autumn leaves! I'm hoping to go on more hiking trails with my partner during fall and perhaps we bring some picnic things to recreate the photos we see on Pinterest 🧡😅

This painting was challenging since I haven’t painted more than two characters in an illustration before! I think it turned out quite well, and I’m happy with the results! 

I usually combine pinks and blues but decided to try orange and purple. I was a little worried it might look too Halloween-y, so I also tried to add different hues of blues and yellows. I’m excited to do more fall-themed paintings and experiment with fall colour palettes. 😄
