Hi Patrons! 🌈

I went with another suggestion again today, this time from Nani! 🥰She suggested exploring different sea creatures so I was inspired to look at reference photos and ultimately decided to paint the majestic betta fish! I think they're super beautiful so I wanted to try incorporating the fishtail design into the mermaid's tail! The tail reminded me of the colours of the galaxy so I played around with a very colourful palette!

In the early stages, I had mini planets and fish sketched in but it got really busy when I tried to paint everything so I had to remove them! I also ended up fixing the anatomy since the first one wasn't as engaging! 

I painted it on Procreate then transferred it into Photoshop so I can work with the adjustment layers. I really hope Procreate releases more adjustments layers so I can keep working on there haha 

To add refinements  I found this brush super useful when painting the mermaid's tail (From Lynn Chen's brush set)
