Mermay Day 16 🧜‍♀️ / Dark Library ☕📜🕯- Process + Reward Updates (Patreon)

Hi Patrons! 🖤

I wanted to do something inspired by Dark Academia for today's Mermay! Actually, I wanted to draw a different sea creature for today so I wanted to do an octopus! I had this idea of imagining an octopus as a writer since ink is in their nature 😄🐙🖤

I had a lot of fun painting Painter of the Sea so I wanted to take a different take by imagining another creature in a different setting! I might touch up on some details up tomorrow morning (especially the shell in the glass case, it kind of looks like brains right now which is not what I'm going for haha) but for now, I think it's done! 

I attached the timelapse video and then edited the rest in Photoshop! 

As you can see I omitted many of the shelves since they looked too busy so I opted for some simple side tables! The colour palette is heavily inspired by dark academia so I used a lot of earthy dark tones! 

I also attached one of my inspirations for this composition: The Library, Elizabeth Shippen Green. 1905

It's almost that time of the month to pick the rewards for this month and I'm thinking because there's going to be so many choices I want to give two postcard rewards this month! ❤️🎉
