Hi Patrons! 🧑

Here's my Mermay for Day 7! I wanted to paint a garden with cute little ducks surrounding the mermaid stone statue! This took longer than I anticipated since I was struggling with the lighting so I had to make several changes!

I might do something simple tomorrow to take a break from the background! I don't want to burn myself out! Despite the challenges, it was so much fun painting ducks and ducklings! I thought it would be cute for the ducks to visit the statue every once in a while! πŸ¦†πŸ¦†

For the last image, I made some colour adjustments using:

Selective colour (Reds & Yellows), Hue and Saturation, Curve Tool, Brightness and Contrast

I rely on adjustment layers to really make the colours pop! It's one of my favourite steps to do when I finish a painting!

Thank you so much for your support everyone! 🧑🧑

Excellent job, so nice to see your process for these. Definitely a good idea to pace yourself, burn out is no fun. Also lots and lots of water and stretching. :)

She is so adorable!! I love how you always make your mermaids part of the background πŸ₯° What is the brush you mainly use? Like for the leaves? πŸ’•
