When I first listened to this, before the final episode came out, I was like: ... omg, this final is gonna be SO FREAKING HARD 😱

Ahhh, I've been waiting for this one! Such an interesting song. I agree it does really throw you off on first listen which I think was clever to do for a performance like this because it creates a lot of different memorable moments and keeps a story moving. I think they just needed a little more creativity/shock value in the staging and perfomance itself and they might have been able to win, the camerawork really didn't help though. I recommend checking out the performance video they made, even if in your own time, the camerawork on that really enhances both the performance and the song. This song definitely really grew on me upon re-listens, same with their new comeback as it wasn't at all what I expected based on their past stuff. The whole album is really interesting tbh, Monotree never disappoint. Plus MK was involved in producing not only this song, but most of the songs on the album including the title track Sukhumvit Swimming. Wyatt was also involved in producing Good Good and they both worked on lyrics. I really hope new world makes it to the CMR series, I can't wait to see the confusion!

Thanks for reacting, Umu! :) It was fun (at least for me) to see you trying to dissect the structure of this song haha If New world DOES end up in the CMR series, I highly recommend the performance MV that WM uploaded too, since the audio used is the official audio :) Also, I don't know if you listen to the b-sides of comebacks, but I highly (x1000) recommend Gepetto from their spin off album! I feel like it has some really weird key changes that you'll like LOL
