!! I wish I could listen the way you do, it's so fascinating ** I really want to learn more about the notes, recognize the melody.. Anyway lol first time I listen to "photo" (gonna search for the o) it sounds quite different from the "general kpop sound" (?) Love the sinister vibe it gives at the beginning and the refrain too. Abt the rap part, I'm curious, wonder how they would have made it less mainstream/what type of melody should they add?..I avoided road to kingdom ( too dif from the 1season/the compétition was less the focus) but from some of your reactions I saw, I'll give it a try! their performances are top-notch!! + tbh Pentagon remix of follow sold it for me lol did you watch it already?

It's all about sample choice- during the rap sections they chose percussion sounds (trap hi hat, "snare", kick) used widely in...almost every pop song ever. So maybe if they chose different samples (keeping the same rhythms as before) and then added some chopped up vocal harmonies in the back, or the upperwoodwinds featured in other parts of the track, that would take my mind away from "ah, a rap section, okay". And I have yet to hear follow!

The only thing I have against this performance is that they didn't use the bridge, which is my favorite part of the original song. I guess there was no more room for that. Still wish it had been used somehow!
