Hi fam,

We have a new Star Trek episode! This episode was so good! I loved seeing the introduction of the Romulans. The way this episode was shot was amazing. Not only did we get to see the crew of the Enterprise maneuver through the conflict between Romulus and Earth, but we got to see the Romulans' perspective too. I also loved seeing the similarities between the two captains. Those scenes showed that we have more that tie us together than separate us, regardless of race.

Also, the reveal of the Romulans and their resemblance to Vulcans...AMAZING!

Anyways, enough chatting.

Go check out the episode and let me know what you think!

Xoxo,

Alexxa

This is often considered Top 10 episode. It's actually a rather audacious rip-off of the (at the time) recent Hollywood movie, The Enemy Below - but in space. I've always felt that the Roman background to the Romulans (although a fun creative touch) was a little odd - or, at the very least, massively coincidental with Earth history! It's something that later series of Trek would take at face value, while giving them more of an alien identity and history. The bests thing about this episode for me (other than the suspense) is ,once again, seeing the Lower Decks. It really makes it feel that this is a proper space ship; that this is how it will eventually be, in the future - a living, working, occasionally quarrelling, and occasionally loving, community travelling through space. You asked about the word Prater. In the Roman Empire, this was someone who exercised authority; although what made this person different from 'Spaceship Captain' in this story, I have no idea. We are both watching the episodes with the improved digital FX. The FX team really try hard to keep the essence of the originals, while giving other sequences the spectacle that the writers/producers originally intended. In this episode, I love how they depicted the comet :) I also loved getting a name-check :D

Hahaha! I was hoping you'd catch it! 😁 This episode was sooooo good! I can't wait for the next one. Thank you for the info about the Praetor, I was wondering if they were talking about the Romans or if it was something completely different in the Trek history. Thanks again for watching and commenting! 💛
