Hi fam!

Another Star Trek reaction coming your way! These last two episodes were so much fun to watch!

Now I have a question for you guys. Is Mudd related to the guy in Discovery that caused Groundhog's day on the ship? I feel like his name was also Mudd.

Let me know!

I hope you enjoy this one!

Xoxo,

Alexxa

Unbelievably, this story was designed to be the second Pilot episode (and the first one broadcast). Can you imagine what new viewers would have thought when watching it? "What's this new series about, then? Oh, ok....siren-like women, who take a drug to make themselves hot and subservient? Count me in!" Fortunately, it was switched with a different one. Gene Roddenberry was a genius when it came to pushing the television conventions of the day: having a woman as First Officer, in The Cage; having a woman of colour (on the Bridge) in one of the lead roles; ditto with an Asian character. This is forward thinking - but then he chose to have all the female crew members wear impractical mini-skirts as part of their Enterprise uniform; and came up with this episode's storyline. In short, whenever you see Roddenberry's name as scriptwriter, expect to see a storyline with a strong moral message....and at least one very beautiful female character wearing very little clothing! :) This story ambles along pleasantly for a while; but watching it again with your reaction (and its been several years since I last saw it, so it had slipped my mind) I was startled by the scene of the 'ageing reveal'. At this point, the story changes course and becomes far more interesting! And yes; that is the same Harry Mudd that you saw in ST:Discovery. His character was one of the best things in Season 1 (I never got beyond Season 2)

Ian! You are the best! Thank you for your comments and thoughts! I knew I had heard Harry Mudd before! I can't wait to rewatch Discovery once I'm caught up with the other seasons.
