It's also a wonderful view into how a person can be actively working on themself in sincere and meaningful ways, but that it's also not inauthentic to set a soft boundary around another aspect of themself that they can't deal with in tandem with all of their other stuff. I know I have multiple areas that need growth, and I am actively choosing to keep them in that space, maybe like bubbling in Steven Universe, and will get to them later when I am ready for it.

That's a wonderful way of putting it! Jon is certainly working through his problems himself - but still has a long ways to go in other areas. I can definitely relate to bubbling particular things in my life too 🥲✨
