August Exclusive Comic (Patreon)

Elodie requested a really sweet drawing idea this month of our cast playing sports in school! .....so of course I decided to make something angsty lol (Jon's version in the monthly sketches will be more light-hearted I promise! 😭💗)

Anyways, here are baby Alex and Marcie in high school~ A few thoughts I had while making this, if you're interested in reading:

Both Alex and Marcie are pretty coordinated and athletic, and I feel like they would have enjoyed playing sports when they were younger -- if only their classmates didn't ostracize them. The two things that Alex is most sensitive about is his economic disparity and his complicated family situation. Kids from his and Marcie's school would definitely had taken advantage of those soft spots :,)

Earlier drafts of Alex also included him always getting into physical fights at school, but he has really mellowed out in our current draft...the anger is still there though, so perhaps an alternate ending to this comic would be a bat to the bullies' head lmao

And lastly, I'm changing Marcie's last name to "Evensen" -- calling her by her surname will be a good way to avoid deadnaming her in flashbacks, but I don't want people to think her orignal surname "Evans" is her deadname. Hopefully that all makes sense -- thanks for reading this far and hope you enjoyed a little lore! 🥰🥰
