The finale to our comic this month! ✨ The last 5 pages of this upload are also this month's exclusive comic for you guys on Patreon -- thanks so much for your support, I really hope you like how it ended!!

This whole adventure may have been made just to answer a drawing suggestion from here haha. Earlier this month, Gee wanted to see if Alex and Marcie had any other friends who would've been affected by Alex leaving home as a kid. Meet Brett (I may have chosen that name because it was close to a guitar fret lmao)

✨Here's some word vomit about him!✨ Brett was a longtime friend to Marcie's mom, and hired Marcie and Alex as a favor to her to try to keep them out of trouble. They worked in his music shop as teens, despite not knowing anything about instruments or music. After this event though, Brett began to teach them how to play guitar and bass for free. He's always felt paternal toward Marcie, but had really become a father-figure for Alex. When Alex left home, he was probably just as heartbroken as Marcie and her mom were.

It's Kind of a Funny Story just focuses on how Jon and Alex get together. But I'm also writing a comic that will come afterwards, in which all the loose ends presented in the first part (including Alex and the family he left behind) will finally have closure.

Thanks so much for reading and for following along with this comic!! That second part of our webcomic is still a long ways away -- but perhaps some little sneak peeks into the future will keep you interested! 🥰

I loved this!!! Such a delightful little vignette, and the perfect balance to this week's much harder to swallow main comic.

Additionally, the world you've created is so authentic and rich. It feels very lived in and corollary to the real world. I think that's what makes it such a source of life for me.

Aw I’m really happy you’ve enjoyed their little adventure! And doubly so that their world feels authentic 🥰🥰 A lot of the interactions in the story stem from my real life as well — it means a lot that it can be a good source of life for you too, tysm!! 💗
