Development Update - 03.06.2021 (Patreon)

Hi guys,

I would like to announce that the whole Chapter 2 of The Best Days of Our Lives from the art side is finished! All renders were passed to the coder/writer so as soon as he is done with his part of work, we’ll move to beta testing. At the same time we will announce the official release date of The Best Days of Our Lives 0.2, primarily for Principals and then according to tier rewards - on later dates for other Patrons.

If you are interested in what problems I faced during the development process of this update I have to say “mouth opening thing” was the biggest one.

So as I mentioned in a previous development update I figured out that it would be nice to add a few extra renders for characters' conversations, to make them feel more alive. I started confidently and honestly it went pretty well till I confused the name of one render almost in the end… I didn’t figure out what happened until after I finished the whole Chapter 2 😔 When I checked the whole work that I did I found out that everything is mixed up and I have to rename half of the renders and even re-render a few of them. It took me 3 extra days but the bright side of this situation is that I’ll be way more organised when I’ll be working on Chapter 3😊 

Keep your fingers crossed for me not to make the same mistake again 😄

Animations

We are thinking of making a new goal on Patreon only for animations. I started extra-learning a few weeks ago how to make the best animations for a couple scenes of Before You Go but I have to be honest with you that it is a tough thing for me. Mostly because of the software I have to work on. I’m trying my best but in the same time we are thinking of finding someone to work specially only on them, someone who can meet our standards of quality. That’s why we want to make a new goal for ~100/150 Patrons only for it. We don’t know exactly how much would one animation cost or how much money someone really skilled would want for making animations for us 😄
