Star Citizen - LAG PIPs - Flight Manual
If their is a Primary Active Target the ships Intelligent Target Tracking System or ITTS will attempt to paint Predicted-Impact-Points or PIPs
When these PIPs are over the targets, targeting box & the indicated weapon is fired, chances of scoring a hit are increased. PIPs do not guarntee a hit.
PIPs will act differently for Gimbal, Turreted & Fixed Mounts.
If there is No Primary Active Target no PIPs will appear.
PIPs can Convey a variety of Information for, weapon types, firing & scoring hits
If a weapon is firing, a yellow weapon firing indicateor will appear around the PIP.
Hits are indicated with a green Hit Impulse Indicator.
Each Weapon Type has its own PIP -
And multiple PIPs for the same weapon type if their are the same type split between Gimbaled & Fixed Mounts for example
It may be wise to set weapon fire groups according to type - please see weapon groups for more information
If a weapon is out of range, no PIPs for the weapon type or a red out of range marker will be shown.
Understanding PIPs & when to fire different weapons & groups is an important part of ship combat. Be sure to practice in the Simulator
