Please welcome legendary games designer, producer, and entrepreneur Cliff Bleszinski -- better-known as CliffyB -- to Sacred+. On the back of his new comic series Scrapper, Cliffy is imbibing a new energy, but that always seems to be the case for the busy creative that won't (or perhaps cannot) sit still. After all, a year before Scrapper, he released a raw and honest autobiography, and before that, he produced some Tony-winning theater productions, and before that, he invested in restaurants, and... well... you get the idea. But the CliffyB that worked at Epic for 20 years and helmed bringing the world the likes of Gears of War, Unreal, and Jazz Jackrabbit still has much to say about the industry that he helped define, and our brisk conversation covers a number of topics, from the hostility surrounding LawBreakers' demise to Microsoft's hesitance in bringing him back into the Gears fold. I more resonate and know Cliffy for Unreal, Unreal Tournament, and Gears, and he is pretty much permanently redeemed for those works in my eyes. But good Lord this man is still hung up on the wet towel that was Lawbreakers. Yeah people trashed it excessively but my brother in Christ you were releasing a competitive class based shooter and forgot to make it fun above all else, a year after Overwatch, and you couldn't lock down a pricing model for it. Also interesting to here him say Radical Heights was a last ditch effort because that's what it felt like. Would've loved to hear him talk more about his earlier works, in the same way that Jaffe talks about Twisted Metal, but beggars can't be choosers.

another awesome episode with an interesting personality that some may be finding for the first time. i think i "discovered" cliffy b on iron lords podcast like a year or two ago, and the guy is really interesting with a lot of life experience. colin idk how u can top this where you had jonathan and now cliff.

I think this is the only episode of SS I couldn’t finish. Cliffy just comes off as a huge douche, and is grating to listen to him ramble nonsensically.
