I really think P3s cast and narrative trumps any of the modern Personas for the simple fact that the crew is actually part of the narrative and doesn't just at some point gets relegated to a narrative stasis, so you can eventually social link them. Minor P3 spoiler: There's soo much more going on with Junpei throughout P3s story than with Yosuke or Ryuji for example - it's truly night and day. Also hottake on Tartarus: I really prefer the flowstate of a huge ass dungeon to the stop-and-go nature of P5s palaces. Don't get me wrong, the dungeon design in P5 is great but I don't really enjoy getting constantly interrupted by Morgana so he can tell me about simple "find one lever in this room to unlock a door" puzzles. The couple of designed dungeons in P3 in comparison aren't great either but at least they're very short and don't try to do much more than to be a fitting backdrop to the story. As I've grown older I kinds started appreciating jrpgs that just commit to the grind instead of constantly trying to break up the flow with redundant dialoge or brainteases. I can just set my own goals, watch the numbers go up and listen to a podcast. Obviously highly subjective though.

I'm probably in the minority, but not a fan of the third semester in Persona 5 Royal. Felt like disrupts the pacing of the game and there’s not enough new content to justify the extra days. The Persona evolution conversations are repetitive. I also hated the new final cutscene. Only positives are the fleshing out of Yoshizawa and Akechi.

What I didn't like about the cast in the original Persona 3 was that it didn't really feel like you're interacting with them that often. They were doing stuff, but usually you aren't present. It felt more like they were work colleagues than freinds, even at the end. I haven't finished Reload, but it seems like they fixed that. There's more scenes of you all hanging out and it feels like you're actually developing relationships with them.

BOTH Gamestop locations in my city have tried to sell me opened games as "new". i was actually arguing with a manager in one of the stores about it, and basically his response was, "I promise they haven't been used. That's just how we have always done it." or something. he had no explanation and he was also maintaining that because the games had not been PLAYED, they were still "new" somehow, despite the packaging being opened and the disc taken out. Shady.

While I think Matty is a very likeable person, his discussion around Suicide Squad gave me the same vibes as I got when he reviewed FFXVI; he's spread too thin and is rushing through games to get a review out. Legendary, Infamous, and Notorious weapons absolutely feel and play differently from lower level gear and you can build characters in pretty different ways. The game is by no means perfect but I've enjoyed it. Over the past six months Matty has seemed to be pretty negative in most reviews he's done and, again, I think he's overworking himself...

I don't think Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the best example of him being too harsh.

I hear this constant praise for P5R, and I am over here annoyed how big of a joke the balance is. Can't even make it to the new content stopping at Oct twice, the game just throws so much overpowered crap at you for no damn reason. They took all this free overpowered MTX and just threw them all at the player for no reason.

To Mr. Marty . If PlayStation has been boring this gen., then wth has Xbox been. PlayStation has constant exclusives. Doesn’t matter if it’s from 2nd party orc3rd party. That’s the whole point of consoles to deliver games. No one is worried about PS 1st party cause we know when they drop they’ll be bangers. In the meantime Xbox is so sad they gotta release all the games on PS cause you guys don’t buy games. Just admit you’re on the wrong side of the console war. You just haven’t excepted defeat.
