Our Introduction to Drinking | Knockback, Episode 277

While we certainly neither condone nor encourage underage drinking, the reality is that both of us did plenty of it in our heyday. Indeed, drinking before you're 21 in the US is basically a rite of passage for generations of young people. (And yes, the drinking age should be 18.) And while we absolutely don't endorse our past behavior, we thought we would have some fun talking about our respective introductions to drinking: Trying our first beer, going to our first party, getting drunk for the first time, and -- god forbid! -- hungover. From Bud Heavies and Mike's Hard Lemonade to tequila and scotch... well... we may have been a little over our heads. Enjoy.

You can drink with your parents at bars and restaurants in Wisconsin. Lol and Dag, that’s why god gave you two hands, one for the grit and one for the beer. When they outlawed smoking in bars in 08, it really cut down on my bar drinking. Kinda disappointed you don’t like Jack Colin, but that’s ok, but what are your thoughts on Wild Turkey 101. I really like that bourbon

It's in-fashion not to like Jack. I work at a liquor store and people with a little extra money tend to look down on Jack the same way they do mainstream beers. Just more proof that Colin is a hipster. Side note: At least in my store, White Claw is so popular and it seems evenly split between the sexes. We definitely sell way more White Claw than we do Budweiser but it's a different demographic with the seltzers. It seems like people between 30-50 have been quicker to pick them up as their habitual drink after work.

The blurb about Native Americans made me think of something interesting you guys might like to read about. Look into the introduction of the typical western diet into cultures that were not so reliant on these foods in the past and how it changed the people. Our food is what is making us sick.
