Please welcome writer and producer Nick Calandra back to Sacred+ for his third visit to our show. Indeed, they say the third time's a charm, and thus Nick's timing is impeccable. We speak with the ex-EIC of The Escapist fresh off the launch of his mega-successful new Patreon endeavor Second Wind. And I say 'we', because I'm (Colin) also gratefully joined by The Washington Post's Gene Park, who requested to be co-pilot alongside me as we dive into The Escapist's recent exodus, the loyalty of audiences, and the endless commoditization of content by corporations that simply do not understand the market. Such misunderstandings cause some companies to buckle under unrealistic financial weight. That's not Nick's problem, though. Indeed, we're happy to report that if early trends hold, worrying about money will be the least of his concerns, another triumph-in-the-making for independent media.

Don't get the guy who made the Boogie documentary. He misspelled "holocaust" and "sympathy" in one of the text lists thing he did. Unprofessional fatherless behavior.

I like Nick and happy for the new venture, but they are absolutely not “on track” to hit 15k paying patrons already. One day!

Second Wind is such a dope name. Their first project is gonna be a passionate one for sure. Stoked to see the Sacred community partner with a class act like Nick. Great work gents
