Hey, gentlemen! I’m just seeing Colin’s “poaching” teaser on Twitter and now I can’t wait to find out who will be joining LSM. However, I have a question for the Dukes—is LSM the Microsoft of the podcast space now? Mr. Moriarty is looking more like Mr. Acquisition every day. 😏 I jest, of course. Can’t wait to see what’s next for LSM. Cheers to the Dukes!

Hey D boys, Could an avengers style team up game of Spyro, Crash, Conker, and Banjo work? Traveling through their various worlds, and switching between the characters for various challenges could be fun. Thoughts?

Hello dukes, I’ve been suffering from a hand issue for over a year now. It made me miss out on some big video game releases or couldn’t enjoy them as much, it was shaking, tingling and numbing in the left hand. For a while, I thought it was carpal tunnel, turns out, it’s from a lack of vitamin b12. I am now better and enjoying games again and playing catch up and hope to enjoy starfield properly as time goes on, I have found a new hobby in reading books and comics, don’t worry, the last ronin is on the list. My question for you two, what books/comics would you recommend as someone who has been missing out?

Howdy there Duke Bois, What video game character/mascot would make the best gym bro? And why? Thanks and have a “my friend bought everyone pineapple pizza” kinda day

My Defined Dukes, In September, Starfield topped the Circana Software Charts (formerly NPD) and places a respectable 2nd in the European GSD Charts (only beaten by EA Sports FC 24, which is a hugely popular sport in these parts). This is a great month on that front for the Greenbloods. Despite the success of Starfield, the PS5 was still the top console in the US and Europe. Forget what Sony are doing, one alarming statisticis that Xbox console sales were down 35% in Europe when compared to September 2022. What’s going on here?? We know that Microsoft sees most of their growth opportunities outside of the Console space, is this cause for concern long-term? Will we start becoming Third or Fourth Class Citizens if these trends continue (Behind PC, Mobile and Cloud)? Have a “Is Defining Duke going to become, Defining Duke: A Microsoft Podcast?” kinda day

Mr. Scott If You're Nasty

Sir Dukes, First, Matty it was excellent to hear your physical therapy is yielding results; however, I was shocked they hadn't tried the Halo reconfiguration before. A few people from my office were having severe vertigo issues and it was one of the first things they were told to do. I have good news, they both are much better today and continue to do those physical therapy exercises with positive results. Second, I just wanted to throw something out there about cross play. I play shooters on console and I hate it when I can't turn off cross play with the PC community. In my opinion, they have an unfair advantage in shooters and its one of my biggest complaints with Halo Infinite, a game I love to play. I think it actually hurts the engagement of console players, as I've heard many complaints from other console centric players. What say you fine gents? Have a holy shit I can turn my head to the side and not feel like I fell off the earth kind of day.

Good day Esteemed Dukes, I come to the front of the congregation to humbly request you both share your go-to workout playlists. What are some must haves? I see you, Cog! Sharing those banger screenshots on Twitter. 💪 Teach me the ways of the shinobi and point me in the right direction to make the most of my workouts. #HealthisWealth

Good day to you fine gentlemen, It seems we’ve been stuck in a world of drama, disputes, and despicable behaviour for so very long now and I’m hoping you can bring us some joy. What’s putting a smile on your face? What’s making you genuinely happy in the gaming world these days? What’s delightful and exciting and invigorating to you right now? Thanks for the show!

Good afternoon Duke Duo, hope you fellas are having a stellar day. I wanted to tie in Matty’s recent Backbone sponsor with some curiosities I’ve had recently with mobile game acquisitions by Xbox. I know Matty may have dabbled with Marvel Snap possibly, and Cog has mostly dodged the market, but I wanted to bring a few titles to the conversation that I think would be compelling competition to the recent Sony push with Honkai titles and Tencents Tower of Fantasy. (These games also have controller support on mobile, mind you) Games I’ve tried myself that would categorize as Character Action RPG are Punishing Gray Raven from Kuro Games, and Aether Gazer from YoStar. While being Gacha like Genshin or Star Rail (where you draw for characters and equipment) the games make $500,000-700,000 monthly and could follow Honkai’s Cross-save approach to build the base. Snowbreak Containment Zone is a recently released Cover based Shooter that would also look and do well on Xbox in my opinion along with upcoming titles like Project Mugen, Duet Night Abyss and Breakers: Unlock the World. All this said, do you gentlemen think Xbox will look to the East for some of their Mobile focus following their King meeting post ABK? Thanks if you got to this, and have a wonderful evening. 🙏🏾

Howdy boys, Simple question, what’s your favorite video game controller? Not in terms of looks, but in terms of feel. It’s a bit off the wall, but I think my favorite has to be the 8bitdo ultimate controller. If you could combine different elements of different controllers, like the d-pad, stick placement, and triggers, to make your ideal controller, how would you do it? Thanks and have a “stuck with the mad-catz controller covered in Gamestop man-juice” kinda day

Hey Dukes, What are your thoughts on the shift from Game Pass subscriber growth to overall Xbox revenue growth as a performance-based pay metric for Satya Nadella? (https://www.axios.com/newsletters/axios-gaming-64e9570e-2f97-4e8f-9e49-53673b3c221a.html) It's also worth noting that the Game Pass subscriber growth metric was failed to be met in the last two years as well as this year's Xbox growth metric not being met either at 0.7% with a goal of 4.4%. Do you think this may suggest a change in how Microsoft views Xbox performance in a post-acquisition world? Call of Duty and King will certainly drive revenue, but it's yet to be seen if it will lead to significant Game Pass growth. Thanks for all the content you provide and have a good one.

Hey Duke Dudes Huge fan of the show and someone without an Xbox console since the 360. I wanted to jump off from the conservation the dukes had on why it seems Microsoft catches more heat than others regarding acquisitions. As a huge Bethesda fan, I was really disappointed when Xbox finally came out and said that the publishers games would be on Xbox only after it taking them sooooo long just dancing around the subject. While I debated just getting a console so I could play Starfield, the whole thing kind of turned me off from the brand a bit given their wishy washy behavior and honestly I rather wait and see what Switch 2 launch line up is going to be rather than spend money on an Xbox. I have a family and busy job so I don’t really need, want, or have time for 3 gaming consoles at the moment. To be clear, this is a completely emotional opinion and not one based off logic. I am in the business world and understand some companies grow through acquisition while others grow organically / through service output. Have a “I took Topierimate and it made me an insane person” kind of day.

Hi dukes, with Bobby K seemingly leaving ABK at the end of the year, do you think this was a wise choice? Issues aside he's been a pretty steady hand getting games released and on time with regards to COD. With there really only being one game that ran into issues over the past decade. And with Xbox seemingly taking forever to release games and then sometimes really missing the mark. Would it have been a good idea to have Kotick kinda show the XB team how it's done?

Nevets

Hey Duke Boys, With the Activision Blizzard deal now being complete, I have one question about Xbox's game release cycle. Will a first party Xbox game never come out in November again because Call of Duty will now own that slot? How far away from Call of Duty will Xbox feel comfortable releasing a first party game, especially a first person shooter? We don't need a Titanfall/Battlefield situation again

Hustle&Motiv8

Hey y’all, First off glad to see you both are happy, healthy and gaming. Secondly at some point can you both help a newbie at the gym with a workout routine? My question for Matty is about lies of P. Would you recommend this game to a souls first timer? Is it the easiest Souls like game you ever played? Have a great day loved ones.

Hey Dukes. Sneaking this one in before the deadline. As a massive fan of both Like a Dragon and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, to see the two meshed together like chocolate and peanut butter in Infinite Wealth brought out a childlike joy the likes of which I rarely experience. I feel like RGG Studio lives inside my imagination sometimes. How excited are you for this crazy-ass mode? Thank you and I hope you both are doing well.

Sup Dukes I need your help. I have spent upwards of $300 combined on wireless controllers for PC, and every single one of them has some kind of persistent issue. If I use Bluetooth the controller won't stay connected. If I use a 2.4 Ghz receiver I get false inputs and sometimes my character will just run in a random direction or cycle through a menu without me pressing anything. I thought I'd solved it with the 8BitDo ultimate controller, but last night it betrayed me when I was on the penultimate boss of Final Fantasy VII. So for now I'm back to the ol' faithful wired 360 controller, but I feel stuck in the stone age. Are there any wireless controllers for PC which you'd consider 100% reliable?
