How many panties did you buy? But seriously, did you get exposed to any new media you’d like to introduce the rest of us to?

Hey, Dustin! I’m going to be in Korea soon and I’m extremely anxious about the flight. How did you keep yourself occupied for that long stretch of time? Thanks!

Did you try Coco Ichibanya? I would consider a return trip back just to eat there for a week.

Hello. I’m sure you had a wonderful vacation, but I like to ask what negatives people have on trips and what could be done or changed to avoid them? Helpful to hear so I can avoid the same pitfalls. Thanks!

I studied in Japan for a semester during 2017, and hearing your stories brought back some fond memories for me. One in particular was when a friend and I ate at the beef bowl restaurant Yoshinoya and then went to look at games at the Book Off across the street and found this "Yoshinoya" game for the PS2. The cover is all orange with just a picture of a Beef Bowl and the Yoshinoya logo. I showed it to my friend and he was like "what the hell is this?" I turned it over and the backcover art seems to just depict a game about working at a Yoshinoya restaurant. The sheer absurdity of the product combined with just having a had a pretty tasty meal there sent us both into unending laughter. I wish I'd bought it the game but at least I have the memory. As for my question, did you have any notable experiences with vending machines during your time in Japan? I still remember buying a can of coffee from a vending machine on a cold winter morning and being pleasantly surprised that the can was hot.

Hey Dustin, hope you had a great trip man! I'm really dying to know about how popular Dragon Ball is in Japan? I know it's huge in the West and was arguably the anime that made anime cool in the West. Very curious how our counterparts East side feel about it and is it remotely as popular there as it is here?

Yo Dustin, Spot any waifus in Japan?

Hey Dustin,

Hey Dustin! How did Japan's food align with your expectations? What was something that surprised you? Also, I would be remiss if I didn't ask for a description of the best Ramen you had there. Tell us all about it! Good to have you back. Best, Wiley.

Hey Dustin, Hope you had a great trip! My fiancée and I are planning a honeymoon to Japan next year, and I was wondering how the flight there and back went? I saw you mention that you were struggling with the jet lag, but did you experience any issues with the long flight or going through customs?

Went to Japan earlier this year and was looking out for famous locations in games like Persona 5. Did playing games set in Tokyo prepare you for the culture out there or with navigating the city? Glad to hear you had a good trip ! Japan is amazing!

On a scale from 1 to 10, how hot were the Japanese women? Would you ever leave your wife for one?

Raul Hernandez

Hi Dustin, Just wanted to know how much was your trip and did you pass by the red light district of Tokyo? Oh and also any bad experience you had?

towtansua

what my wife and I did during Japan trips was rent a bicycle for the day -- that was more fun that walking. Did you get the chance to visit an arcade while there? What about spicy curry? Hope it was fun. (PS when we moved back to America from Korea, I fit my Switch, 3DS, PS2, PS3, and PS4 all in my carry-on bags). -towtansua

Welcome back Dustin, So, did you get to experience a Japanese 7-11; and if so, what are your thoughts on the higher quality convenience stores there?

Wesali1996

Hey Dustin! When I went to Japan a few years ago I was addicted to a ramen place called Ichiran where you sit on your own in an individual booth and are served through a curtain. Did you go to any places like this and what did you think?

easelgames

Dustin, how many 'questionable' figures did you run into, and were any of them a purchase consideration? Feel free to interrupt the adjective however you wish.

What the best way to book to where you stay according and how long , Hotel vs ARNB. What would you do different on the next trip

Yo dust! So did u beat sea of stars on your long flight to and from JAPAN! That'll do, pig. That'll do.

Mackenzie

Did you go into any weird sex shops?

Anton Kaye

Hey Big D, How did you and Matty become friends? Is he the one you've known the longest within the company? I hope you do more content together, in the future. It always sounds like you have a special chemistry with him when you record a pod. Thanks and love the hair cut

Hey Dustin!! Thanks for representing all the best games on Sacred Symbols (Minus Kingdoms Hearts) I recently went on a honeymoon with my wife to Europe and noticed that for the most part the cities are clean from trash and even more surprisingly no pickup trucks. I heard Colin say that Japan cities were clean as well. What can we as Americans do differently to have clean cities? Do we need to sacrifice our utilitarian vehicles? In all seriousness thank you for not just editing Sacred Symbols but adding your voice, it was much needed. Hope your jetlag recovery doesn't take too long.

Dustin, You were missed. Glad you had a great trip and glad you’re back. That’s all I got, thanks for being such a calm voice of reason in the gaming community.

Hey Dustin. Did you encounter any interesting non-anime/video game historical or cultural sites or facts during your trip? If so, please share.

Dustin, Any news on the Elden Ring DLC while you were in Japan?

G’day Dustin! Being a man that collects physically copies of games, what is your opinion on owning Japanese version of said games to your Collection? I’ve gone back and forward with friends regarding this, as i am someone who will add either to my collection. Because in some cases as you would know the Japanese box or copy is sometimes cheaper than their English counterpart. But to you Dustin does it matter which copy you own, or are you happy to just have that game to your collection? Thank much love and thanks to the LSM family from Australia

Hey Dustin! Hope you had a great trip. My wife and I are heading to japan in April 2024 and will be my first time visiting. My wife has been before and has family there, therefore a ton of our trip is already planned for us. That being said, there will be one day in Tokyo we have to ourselves and my wife is letting me go wild and choose the sites we get to see. What are 2 or 3 gaming related places I can check out on this free day in Tokyo? Thanks for all the great content and your amazing spirit!

Josh Gamez

Hey Dustin, What was the most "exotic" thing you ate while overseas and what did you think of it? Thanks in advance.

NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE

Sup Dustin, I’m very happy to hear that you had a great trip and got to experience some great cities and Japanese culture. However, I would like to know if you got to experience the great Japanese outdoors? Did you go to any outdoor hot springs, see them cherry blossoms bloom, or even gaze upon the majestic Mt. Fuji? What was your experience like?

Andy

Hey Dustin, So did you make the same mistake Colin made when he went to Japan? He was saying “hi” to everyone 😂 so basically saying “yes” to people. He told this story awhile back, maybe in the ign or kf days, that always made me laugh thinking about it. Thanks man and have a great day!

Hey Dustin, Not Japan related, but one piece related. Because of the Netflix live action adaptation, which I loved! I tried the anime. I watched the first 32 episodes and It didn’t click for me. Did I not go far enough? I’m not Huge anime guy. But I’ve seen dragon ball, naruto, death note, and bleach. I know you don’t like Naruto, but I wonder if you ever have it a real shot. I’ve been watching I was 14 and I’m 32 now. I never write in so I hope this gets your attention.

Hey there EVA Unit Dustin What were your favorite drinks while abroad? Having lived in Japan for 4 years I really latched onto Qoo apple juice and Aquarius. As expected they always seemed to taste better from one of the 7 million vending machines around town. Anyway how all was well.

House of the rising Dustin; my family and I are planning to take a trip out Japan next year and I'm super excited to experience the authentic cuisine. Were there any places that blew you away that you could recommend? My son and I love a good bowl of ramen! Thanks!

Japan has amazing toilets. With all the interesting buttons at your disposal, what has become your Japan bum cleaning routine?

Hey Dustin, now that you've been engrossed in Japanese culture, would you be willing to give the Yakuza series a chance? If you do, I highly recommend starting with Yakuza 0, or Like A Dragon.

Mitch Fallon

Hey Dustin, I was lucky enough to holiday in Osaka and Tokyo over a very similar period as you did. While I didn't bump into you there, I did randomly see BeatEmUps and Wulff Den at a strawberry stand at the Tsukiji Fish Market (side note: how crazy are the fruit prices in Japan?!?). Did you manage to catch any other content creators / people of note during your travels? Thanks and keep up the amazing work!
