Hey All,

As promised, I'm rolling out audio-only files of Colin's Last Stand. I've decided that the audio will be available for $5+/month subscribers. There are reasons for that; you can read this Reddit post for more:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ColinsLastStand/comments/665muu/audio_mp3_for_5month_patrons_now_live/

I'm going to refrain on filling in the back catalog and making a huge stink about this until I know this is working properly for everyone. So, with that said, please keep the feedback coming, and I'll continue to tweak and fine tune.

I hope you are all well! News Burst incoming in the next couple of hours... -Colin

Thank you so much for posting the audio file directly, rather than using an unlisted SoundCloud post like KF always did. This is much better. 👍

And I have a soundtrack for this afternoon's Persona 5 grinding! I watched the video already, but it never hurts to give things another listen to help them sink in. Thanks!

Cool, also why not buy a house or rent instead of an apartment. In the long run buying will benefit you.

This will help my commute

Will there be an RSS feed for the audio version?

Marc Boggio

Correction- can't seem to find it (at least via a phone); any chance of offering it via Soundcloud? That's how I always got the early Kinda Funny content and it was easy enough. I say again, I will still primarily watch in video format, but having the audio for second laps on the more heady content would be cool.

We want to rent for a year and see where our finances are, and then go from there. I'm extremely financially conservative. I don't want to over-extend myself.

Matthew Major

Sorry about the islanders we are beating Washington for you for now lol

LastStandMedia

I'm gonna do it this way, only. In my research, I found that most folks enjoy it, and it makes it easier for me (I'm already overextended as it is, LOL). What can't you find, exactly?

Marc Boggio

I clicked through to the Reddit and there didn't seem to be any link that could allow it to be played directly on a phone. I've never used an RSS either, so I suppose I'm not an expert with this stuff. SoundCloud just seemed simple to me (and I've used it to upload some recordings of my own, so I know the process isn't very difficult)

Marc Boggio

Correction, I'm retarded, didn't see the little player at the top of the Patreon Post - sorry about that! (I'm the guy with the amputated leg, considering I'm disabled, am I allowed to say retarded again now?)

GrisWold Diablo

I'm above $5 for the news talk. That's a bonus. I probably wont be using the service often but its nice to know its available. Thank you

wont it be easier to upload it to a service like soundcloud and then just link to it behind the 5$ wall?

Anonymous

that way you can probaly control it better for quality and ease if acces(not an expert theres probaly a better way)

Austin Killian

Yes! I've been wanting audio since the beginning, this makes me so happy! Thanks!

Really appreciate this. Love the video aspect of CLS, but this will make my one hour commute a hell of a lot better.

Awesome video Colin! Just wanted to give you a heads up just in case you didn't know about it. There is a show that airs in South Korea that translate to "Now On My Way To Meet You." There are a few snippets that are translated into English on Youtube if you want to check it out. The show basically takes North Korean defectors (mostly women) and puts them through the Kpop machine. Dress them up in fancy, colorful clothing. Super smiley, a lot of laughter. But at the end of the show, they tell their first hand stories of living in North Korea and it is the most gut wretching shit I have ever seen/heard. It's powerful stuff. You should check it out if you have time!

Colin, you mentioned missile defense systems. I've long had a similar opinion to yours, but admit it is not based on much fact. Would you consider doing a video more on the subject? It's a bit more "tin foil hats" than historical facts, but it would be interesting to hear your thoughts.

Chris Holtzer

Love this format btw. A good blend of informative, but still casual.

Michael Akridge

Woah, nice! Wasn't expecting this so soon. Thanks! Love the option to catch an episode thru audio. I usually make the videos a dedicated watch after I get home from work but it would be awesome to listen to during the drive home(traffic blows.) Stay awesome.

Ian Andrews

Great topic though. I can imagine this as a GoG topic and you saying what you just said and the boys just agreeing...

LastStandMedia

No? I think this was pretty easy. =) Also, from my research, Patreon's podcasting tools have come a long way. This should be good for all.

LastStandMedia

I could look into it, but I have no idea what's even known about it. My dad and I were talking about Israel's Iron Dome, and how that apparently uses some American tech. That's about as much as I know for sure.

Just finished listening to this episode. Really fantastic stuff here, Colin. It's clear that you are very much in your element. Can't wait to see how you evolve from here.

Ian Andrews

Sorry, I meant that you would have made it a topic. That CLS is full Moriarity and what we got before was semi skimmed I'll just bring it up on GoG. I would love a shy Tory/brexit/Special Relationship/Theresa/Maggie episode soon. GSTQ/GBA!

Chris Nelson

This is a great treat! The $5 tier is already such a great value with the News Bursts and updates from you, so this was a really great edition. Thank you for working so hard, making great content, and caring about your audience. It's much appreciated!

Stigma

Thank you for the "lesson"! It is something I didn't know a lot about and found this extremely informative. I have this "feeling" about your videos that I haven't quite been able to put my finger on. I think it may stem from how dense or rich with information they are, but I really have to psych myself up or put aside time to watch them. I'd never be able to have it on "while making dinner" because it requires my full attention to grasp what you're saying. I don't think it's just because I'm a dummy either! I have multiple degrees and went to school for Political Science/History, so I'd like to think I have a fairly broad understanding of these topics. Anyway... it sometimes causes me to just not watch the videos, or get around to them much slower than I do with other content I consume. I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but just an observation that I thought you mind find valuable. Keep it up!

If we manage to go in and bring down the regime - i think industrialized countries should take a shared responsibility for the refugee situation. SHARED RESPONSIBILITY - Its that simple. As someone who have worked in a refugee camp back in Sweden (mostly Syrian refugees) I've dealt with this first-hand. Unfortunately few countries seem to take their responsibility in Europe and the rest of the world. I'm currently living in Tokyo and apparently Japan is helping 24 Syrian refugees in total (not 24.000... 24, as in 2 dozen)... Meanwhile, in the west, Donald Trump want to ban a bunch of middle east countries. I smell greed and cowardliness. Sometimes we have to think "what is the right thing to do", and not just think about the costs... :) But yea, I hope the North Korean situation will go down peacefully... Especially now that I'm living in the "nuke-zone"... I'm not ready for a Tokyo Fallout situation... I ain't even got my survival kit yet. Great episode!
