Mysteries of the Universe | Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast, Episode 266

On this week's episode of Sacred Symbols, we delve into a series of perplexing and puzzling enigmas. Will Helldivers launch in October, as rumors indicate? Could PS5's new firmware update allow desperate husbands to dodge the ire of their angry wives? Should Anita Sarkeesian's sunsetting Feminist Frequency brand hold a positive legacy in our industry? Why is EA bringing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor backwards to PS4 in the year of our lord 2023? All of that, plus more news and a series of listener inquiries that will simply add more question marks to an already question mark-laden description. Are people who invert the Y-axis (like Colin) touched in the head? Is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart too short? Will PS5 Pro disrupt the development flow of regular PlayStation 5 games? Is Chris racist against aliens from space? The Micah cameo was the best. I had to stifle laughs while on the phone with a client!

HiFi Rush has 49.22% for the easiest trophy (beating first task?) and since achievements dont stack (just wtf Tango) I will be generous and say 10% beat the game Now the best example on PS is Stray and Bugsnax. So Stray, 30, there is no good evil combo completion tally, just raw, unadulterated impressiveness. Now Bugsnax, 20% and it is the same no BS number. These games could be considered premiere games being walked down the aisle by Shuhei, however unlike Game Pass it is not the key driver of the service. There are millions of people paying for PS+ to play CoD and a sport game exclusively, and is to a far greater degree than on Xbox Game Pass. So I am going back to HiFi, lets say that 50% of players that dropped off were those throwaway people that just wanted to put their hand in the basket. That HiFi for completion is starting to look comparable to these very successful PS+ games. A Colin favorite and the potentially best example. Outriders players that reached lv 30 Paid PS title = 34.3% Game pass = 14.84% If you apply 1/2 being throwaway subscribers, the engagement by the core demographic on the service is there. Only problem, game hit PS+ this year, however reports are 30% of users are extra tier and the game is not exactly a hot, new product people were waiting for. On the other hand, Game pass is probably close to 90-100% of subscribers, because annual online $60 membership was killed when $1 Ultimate upgrade became a thing. No one talks about how Xbox killed traditional online membership, you either get on the game pass deal or go kick a bucket. For fun, assisting my 1/2 players on game pass are just clicking buttons. 64.77% beat the tutorial on Xbox, 97% beat it on PSN. TLOU2 could be on game pass and I would bet money no more than 60% get the first trophy. That really does not mean much though.
