Earlier this year, we had a blast covering each and every episode of HBO's The Last of Us here on Sacred+. We thought we'd try to do this again for Peacock's newly-released Twisted Metal series, though we're not going to go quite as aggressively. Instead, we thought we'd digest the first two episodes, see how we felt, and uncover if we even wanted to continue at all. And we do. Two upcoming editions of + will cover episodes 3 through 6 and 7 through 10. For now, though, let's focus on the first hour of Twisted Metal, introducing ourselves to John Doe and his lovely car Evelyn, a quiet (!) female companion, the notorious Sweet Tooth, and the so-called COO of San Francisco, played by Neve Campbell. Sometimes funny and sometimes not -- but solid, nonetheless -- Twisted Metal's unexpected return in television form isn't must-see TV. But it still may be worth watching, depending entirely on your disposition and expectations. (Please note: We discuss a key plot point of the season that doesn't occur in these first two episodes. This is done for clarity's sake; if you're worried about being totally unspoiled after the first two episodes, avoid this podcast. But in our opinion, this 'spoiler' should come as no surprise if you're familiar with the source material.)

Colin, I know you don't drive but how many 20 years old (and given the overall look of it, it's probably closer to 30) year old cars have you been around that aren't at times excessively loud? Even in a world with regular tune ups and part replacements it's hard to avoid. I could only imagine how impossible it'd be in the post-apocalypse lol.

Colin just spoils the finale with no care or warning in this even though it is just for episodes 1-2
