Starfield Is Close - Bethesda Breaks Their Silence | Defining Duke, Episode 134

August is coming and with that is an anticipated onslaught of Starfield marketing. Trailers, reveals, and details aplenty leaves us all wondering: Just how far will Bethesda go? Well, with three new animated trailers in our system and some analysis of the Fallout 4 marketing cycle, we may have a good idea of that! We also delve into the recent majority shareholder purchase by Tencent of Techland. How does this change the gaming landscape and is the industry giving Tencent's aggression the same villification as the likes of Microsoft and Sony? "Lord Acquisition" has some thoughts you're going to want to hear on the matter. Plus, who's behind the recent wave of backwards compatible multiplayer improvements in the likes of Call Of Duty and Gears Of War? We get into all of this as well as Ubisoft's insistence on returning to tighter games, Activision's massive success on PC, a pizza scented TMNT controller, some wild food takes, and more! Meatball

Always look forward to Thursday with the Dukes

This might sound stupid but I’m almost nervous about the Starfield release. This is one of those “insanely high expectations” releases and Xbox really needs it to be a hit. I remain cautiously optimistic that it will deliver.

What has been surprising me the most is the confidence that those 30 fps on console will be locked at any time, lol. Watch it come out with dips all over the place.

Shaun Wilkinson

It's crazy just how little hype there is out there for Starfield.

Chris Van Buren

I fall in to this category. I’ll play it, but I really haven’t followed anything with it or watched any trailers. I’m very ‘meh’ with it at this point.

If you are into wolverine check out the one shot “Snikt” by Tsutomu Nihei it’s a short manga where Logan is Alone in a barren wasteland inhabited by robotic, parasitic organisms, the X-Men's most lethal member devolves further and further into his true, savage, berserker state with each battle

Matty/Cog. Again, another fantastic conversation to keep us all engaged. You both keep going from strength to strength. A couple of quick thoughts as i endeavour to engage more. As a Brit, im not sure if i fully understand the Mac and Cheese format (with age i find i lose elements of intelligence!!) But if it has any similarity with Macaroni Cheese that i recognise over here, then i am so sorry to say but you would have one heck of a battle convincing me of its merits. Solely because for me personally they are two tastes that do not land well together. And the texture is really something i cannot handle. I'm likely in a minority and that's perfectly fine. And Cog, Sir, even though i can't play those fighting games which you are a master of, i do wish to express a recognition of your very clear passion of this genre. Especially Tekken following this recent podcast. The detail you provide of the combat and the excitement in your voice as you explain and relive gameplay is nothing more than pure connection with the characters and the world. And even to an outsider to the franchise, it is a pleasure to listen to and better understand. Both of you fellas stay safe and well. Happy gaming.

To the guy looking for comic recommendations. Read Saga and think me later.
