Howdy Dukes, What is the wackiest or worst game idea you’ve heard? A former member of my indie team pitched “the dark souls of strand games” and did not elaborate further. I can’t even imagine what that game would be. Maybe I just don’t have the vision.

Anonymous

Hello Dukes, Now that we've seen the Xbox first-party slate of games for this year, 2024, and beyond following the showcase - what game genre do you think is currently most lacking from Microsoft's in-house portfolio and how much of a difference do you think the Activision/Blizzard/King acquisition will make for game genre variety on the platform? Thanks, Matt Bertram

Dukes, I was hoping for Xbox to announce the Elite Controller 3. Should I just go ahead and get the second one? Have a "I broke the RB shoulder button on my pro controller" kind of day.

Hey guys. So a former producer of Kojima Productions, Ryan Payton just said that the only reason that MGS 4 was exclusive to PS3 was because they couldn’t fit the game onto the Xbox 360 dvds. He even said they had it “up and running beautifully.” I have always heard that the game couldn’t be ported because it was so specifically designed for the PS3 architecture that it wasn’t possible. Turns out that isn’t true. Now knowing that the game runs just fine on other systems, do you think the game will finally be re released in a potential MGS collection volume 2? Since it won’t be in Volume 1. Keep up the great work guys. Y’all are awesome.

Hey Dukes, So Matt Booty spoke recently saying there are no plans right now to close down Arkane Austin. Whilst that conformation is great news, the pessimist in me can’t help but worry. To talk about it so openly and to use the words “right now” indicates to me that the studio’s closure is definitely on the cards. Obviously Booty was responding to a direct question, he didn’t just tweet it out. But his willingness to talk on it does make me think they might be preparing us for the worst. Am I too worried? How long do you think Arkane Austin will spend under the microscope? And what makes sense for that studio going forward? Thanks boys!

Hey guys, Just wanted to follow up with Cog. In my last write in from last week Cog asked why I was looking into exploring Xbox and why I’ve been steering away from Sony. The main reason is I don’t like the direction Jim Ryan is taking them. I think they’re strategy of going live service is making a lot of the games we’re seeing generic and uninventive. Their first party studios are lacking diversity. Ghost of Tsushima and horizon are very similar, one is a samurai setting and one is a futuristic setting. God of war and the last of us are similar in many ways. I feel Sony used to push the limits by creating ground breaking ip’s and coming up with new and creative games. It seems if a game can’t make a tv show, a movie, or an animated series it’s not worth them investing in. Xbox’s last showcase, to me, showed off more creative and fresh games and that’s what I’m looking for with the limited time I have to game. Third party games (like persona) are coming to gamepass. It’s looking like I can get what I’m looking for. I still love many games on my PlayStation and I’m looking forward to final fantasy xvi. But it feels like new games like that are coming more rare to find in their platform. Thanks for all you do.

Johannes

Hello you two fine gentlemen, first time writing in on this lovely podcast. I wanted to ask you about something that, to my surprise, was largely ignored during the aftermath of the Xbox showcase. In the Giantbomb interview, Phil Spencer was asked about a potential mid gen refresh of the Series X which doesn't seem to be happening while a PS5 Pro model seems more like an open secret at this point. Do you think Xbox has finally found the tools to get the most out of the machine in order to fully utilize the extra bells and whistles? What do you sexy boys think? Best wishes from Germany Johannes ("Yo-hun-nes")

NeO JD

Fellas, now that Xbox is officially done with the Xbox One generation, what was your favorite game that appeared on that console? For me, it’d be Gears 5. Thanks and have a “Kojima ISN’T directing the Death Stranding movie? What kinda shenanigans is this?” kinda day.

Good day fellow Dukes, I couldn't help myself to watch the Starfield Direct several times over, looking to see all my favourite Youtubers reactions and I have to say, that 3rd person camera and animations is looking so clean in comparison to their previous iterations. My question is more a fun one in that I would love your perspective of the likelihood you'll spend more time in 3rd person, appreciating the outfits, etc? Nothing deep, but I hope you both have a "I tried so hard to come up with witty nicknames, but had to settle for the standard Dukes" kind of day.

Hey Dukes, Let’s talk about Starfields procedural generation. Matty, you’ve voiced your concerns about this over the last week but I can’t say that I align with you. For one, it’s on record that Starfield has the most hand crafted content of any Bethesda game ever including more dialogue than Skyrim and Fallout 4 combined. Secondly, procedural generational has been used in past Bethesda games such as Daggerfall, Fallout, and Skyrim and to my understanding that does include terrain and quests. Thirdly, how else do you expect Bethesda to create a gameplay loop that incorporates over 1000 planets of scope? It’s literally impossible for them to handcraft enough content over that kind of space and since their goal is make every inch of every planet explorable they have no choice but to lean on procedural generation. With all of that being said I do NOT expect the same level of quality from procedural generation versus hand crafted content. This is an important expectation to have. However, what I’m arguing is that it’s not really fair to hold “procedural generation” against them given they are giving us all of this handcrafted content on top of galaxies worth of planets to explore. Hopefully I’m bringing some perspective and not being too naive. Have a great weekend and thanks for all great podcasts!

Greetings, Dukes! There's been talk and frustration regarding games releasing early at a higher cost, while game journalists seem to miss reporting on poor launch performance. Here's my question: Could Starfield's Premium Edition, with its 5-day early access, actually provide a valuable opportunity for the public to get more genuine feedback on performance? Considering concerns about locked 30fps, is this early launch a potential advantage for unbiased performance reviews? Thanks for the awesome content and energy you bring to the conversation every week!

Alright Defining Dookie, I got beef. I love you guys and love the show but I've got a bone to pick with the Lord, last week you said Fable doesn't count as #JustOne because its an existing series, and to that I ask: Is God of War #JustOne? Those new games are a continuation from an older series that's something else, so either Fable is potentially #JustOne, or God of War 2018 and Ragnarok don't count. In all seriousness thanks for the shows guys, have a "buying an Xbox would be cheaper than upgrading my PC for Starfield" kinda day.

John

Hey Dukes I know God Howard said that 30fps was a creative decision, but do you think that there could be a 60fps version or patch in the future once they’ve had more time to work on the game post launch?

Greeting Chicken Chasing Cog and Mr Matty Roleplays, just a quick question/concern. Too often do I find myself missing achievements I should be earning on Xbox. To my dismay, sometimes I find myself having to replay hours of story content to earn unmissable story related achievements I missed in my first playthrough. (For example, missing unmissable achievements in the Arkham series games and tomb raider games despite having the achievement for game completion) Or in another case, some achievements get bugged and locked at 90 or 95 percent despite definitely completing the requirements. Does this happen to the two of you often? Or am I all alone in this cruel achievement hunting world? I remember cog saying it was common in Midnight Suns

Hello Gentlemen, Just wanted to say I became a patron about a year ago for sacred symbols as I like a lot of patrons was a follower of Colin's. With that said I have to say I have recently tuned into your show as the crossover shows with sacred symbols have come about and I'm really glad I did. I am not much of an Xbox gamer but your content is so compelling I have to listen and I am even excited for some new Xbox games like starfield and Fabel. Thanks for the awesome content. Take care!

Hey guys, An Obsidian developer has said there were issues with the visuals in the Avowed trailer. Apparently the external studio that made it did some compression of colors and image editing. Also, the lighting should change, and the art needs to be refined. I'm sure the final product will turn out great, but were those who complained about the trailer's poor visuals vindicated? Can they take a victory lap like how the Dukes do for themselves? https://twitter.com/klobrille/status/1670483582714802176?s=20 https://twistedvoxel.com/obsidian-dev-avowed-trailer-fails-the-outer-worlds/

To the Illustrious and Distinguished Lord Cognito… and Matty, but mostly Matty. In the most recent Episode of Ultimate you pointed how Guerrilla transitioned from Killzone to Horizon and that Playground has the potential to do the same with Forza to Fable. I agree. But you also said that you, and I quote, “LOVE” Horizon. For someone who loves Horizon I can’t help but notice that you have yet to play Forbidden West, an incredible game. I get it, last year was busy and this year is busier, but any chance we get a Forbidden West play through and review from you between FFXVI and Starfield? Thanks and have a, “got hit in the face with a crow bar” kind of day.

Iqan Adil

Hello Dukes, Matty, you've been named as part of a change.org petition to make starfield a ps5 exclusive. In the petition, you're named among 5 youtubers as a target of cancelation. Just found this to be hilarious 😂 Have a "woke up to find myself canceled on change.org petition" kind of day

DDTJOESTAR

Hey gentlemen, happy to see you both in good spirits. I actually had a small thing this time around for Cog, but you’ll like it Matty. Cog, when you’re chilling at home, relaxed with no one to bug you, and you’re looking for the next turn-based game to try. It might have to be Trails of Cold Steel. I KNOW, we’ve gone down this road before but truly hear me out, high school age characters aside that combat works quite similar to Midnight Suns and I do think there’s gotta be something from the series that might work for our man Cog. I respect his tastes and time and understand if we’re just gonna have to take the No, but I had to speak one more time for Matty’s recommendation. Anime aesthetic aside the combat is truly up your alley Cog. Otherwise, be blessed fellas, continue the great work you do and have a “haven’t stopped thinking about 60 player Mario Kart since reveal” kinda day.

Hi Gents, A thought occurred to me when listening to the boys on SS last night - that PlayStation and Xbox’s game development focus seems to me in opposition to the business models they’re pursuing. I would think that a more subscription based service might pursue more live service games and fewer a la carte games, and the inverse for a company avoiding a subscription model, and wanting to market “premium” games. Am I mad? Are the platform holders mad? P.S. I bought a Series X 2 years ago in anticipation of Starfield and am so ready to venture forth with it when it launches. Proof that Starfield is a system seller? Here’s to delaying a game until it’s ready.

Ross Winyard

Hey Double D's, Someone submitted a question regarding optimum game length to Sacred Symbols last week and it got me thinking. Starfield seems daunting in its scale and will no doubt offer hundreds of hours of play time if you so choose but how long should the main campaign be? As a father, I have limited time to game these days so I'm a bit put off by the apparent length of Starfield, but I could be tempted by a solid 20-40hour ish campaign. What do you guys think? How long do you think SFs main story will be and how long would you consider perfect?

Hey Dukes, I gotta say that the Xbox showcase was definitely top tier and, I'm thinking of getting an Xbox. I'm saying that as someone who has had a PS5 the whole generation. Coming off the heels of the presentation their was a question that asked 'if we should dust off our Xbox for 2024'. I'd like to ask a similar question, I have a PC that would need some upgrades to run some newer gen games. But I'm also on the fence about getting a series X. I know you can get game pass for both so I was curious on Duke's opinion for one or the other. Thanks and have an "they'll get my game pass money one way or another" kind of day

John Warner

What’s good duke daddys Starfield has me legit considering buying and Xbox. This is the first game to do this since the original halo trilogy. Haven’t played much Xbox since the 360 days. But since micro copped BGS, one of my favorite devs, I knew this day would likely come to pass. Just wanted to chime in with, this game is definitely a system seller…. Thoughts?

Sean Mason

Hey Dukes, My wife's favorite video game franchise of all-time is Fable, despite this, I have never played a Fable game. Which game should I start with? Best, Sean M.

Hey dukes, I wanted to get your thoughts on the recent IGN preview, specifically given that the experience was highly curated. I feel like this is usually done for games that launch poorly. Do you think like this may mean they have something to hide? Have a, hoping for ES6 before 2030, kind of day.

Hello Double M and Triple C How do you guys get your daily amount of protein? When I see how much is needed to bulk up I just can't imagine eating that much, so what's your secret? Have a "I can't eat another chicken breast kind of day".

Hello financially stable Dukes, With Embracer showing their first signs of financial trouble do you have any hypothetical dream acquisitions you would like Microsoft to acquire? Lil’ Timmy and I would love see Xbox give ID Software Timesplitters. Thank you and have a delicious Hokkaido Cheese Tart kind of day.

G’day Dukes! With the strong showing of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Star Wars Outlaws during Summer Games Fest and the recent success of Hogwarts Legacy and Jedi Survivor, are we in a new golden age of licensed games? There are certainly still plenty of terrible titles that buck the trend (looking at you, Gollum) but it seems we may have turned a corner towards greener licensed pastures for the most part. As a follow up question, is this golden age something we really want, or have we unknowingly waltzed into a ‘careful what you wish for’ situation? I really hope games like Wonder Woman, Star Wars Eclipse and Indiana Jones are all fantastic. Let’s suppose they will be, so much so that Monolith, Quantic Dream and Machine Games would be stupid not to make sequels. Are we really in favour of some of the most talented teams in the business doubling down on pop culture franchises to the extent that they ‘Insomniac’ themselves into a corner where taking a risk on anything else would be nonsensical? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Have a ‘Starfield takes place in a universe that is canonically 30 frames per second’ kinda day. Much love from down under, Shane Bailey (That last joke is courtesy of a HardDrive.Net article)

dukes, having only discovered persona per matt's recommendation late last year with p5r (which i played through to completion and absolutely adored.) im wondering, as someone who really wants to show financial support to atlus, pstudio, and sega with the 3 upcoming projects, should i go out and purchase the games individually? or just play them on gamepass? like, have we yet determined which method has a more meaningful and tangible impact on the books for the publisher? i just really like what they are doing, and want to do my part to the fullest extent, whatever that be, to show that there is an audience for this at xbox, and to keep these things coming. have a 'my man ichiban completely demonotized my youtube channel' kind of day.

Hey Painstakingly Handcrafted and Rendered in 8k Cog and Generic, AI Generated, 480p Background Titty Gobbling NPC Matty, Dudes, with Starfield looking highly likely to be nothing less than great, what kind of boost should we expect it to give console sales and Game Pass subscriptions? I seem to remember MGS4 being a turning point for the then struggling PS3, both in terms of sales and perception, and Sony managed to keep up the momentum created with the high-quality 1st party releases which soon followed. Do you think this could be the start of a similar turnaround for Xbox, is the consoles market about to get more competitive? Cheers cuties, Nick

Mikey Rivers

What’s good dukes, Information on the Diablo 4 season has been revealed and like the others before it, seasonal content will be accessed by a seasonal character AKA you’d have to start anew. What’s the temperature in the room for this? Tradition is nice, but gaming and live service has pushed beyond this method with seasonal expansions. I can’t help but feel like my time has been wasted grinding past the story in the current patch when I know now that I have to start it all over.

Hey Dukes, I wanted to write in on the idea of our favorite dev studios not being what they once were. We all know that Bioware is a shadow of what it once was, regardless of quality of games the staff that worked at that studio is incredibly different to the original days of Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins. But I don’t see the dukes or Xbox community having this same attitude towards Obsidian or other 1st party Xbox studios. Since New Vegas, a large proportion of lead and important developers have left Obsidian, to the point where Josh Sawyer is one of the only devs of that time still with the studio and he doesn’t seem willing to head the studio’s flagship products, such as Avowed. Is this Colin’s dreaded “Ship of Theseus”, where what made these studios truly great were the people and once those people leave the only thing left is that brand? I’m not saying Obsidian aren’t talented, but maybe we should start thinking of Obsidian as “The Outer Worlds Company”, rather than “The New Vegas Company”. Thanks and have a very “My dog refuses to go on a walk because it’s raining and shits in the house” kind if day!

Shaun Sannerude

Hey Dukes With today's announcement of games coming soon to Gamepass, Bramble: The Mountain King is coming on the 27th & I definitely recommend it if you enjoy games like Little Nightmares. It's a very grim & harrowing experience, but in a good way. It has an incredible visual design & most creepiest & twisted creatures I've faced in a long time so definitely check it out!

Will Hernandez

Hey Dukes, This question is more for Matty, but Cog, feel free to chime in as well. Matty, how do you go about reviewing a game as massive as Starfield? How much of the game do you realistically have to play to give it a thorough review, especially when you consider all the systems involved in the game (and some we don't know about yet)? Also, how early do you think BGS will give out review codes? Is two weeks prior to 9/1 enough? I'd say you probably need at least 30 days with a game like Starfield. What will your approach be with this review? Thanks, and have a "Daniel Vogelbach 3 strikeouts in a game" kind of day! -Will

Paul Simmons

Matty this is just a comment/suggestion. I do not use social media. I think it would be awesome to have Skullzi or maybe Cohhcarnage on DDU to deep dive Starfield.

Hey Dukes, Long time first time after upgrading my Last Stand Media membership to the illustrious 5$ tier. Last week Phil Spencer mentioned that gamers "will now need to realize that games will take 4 - 6 years to make". Being 30, I truly have started to wonder how many more iterations of my favorite titles I will see in my lifetime. With AI also being a big talking point. I couldn't help but think to myself that if we embrace the help of AI, will that mean we get more of the games we love sooner? If embracing AI in this industry means more of what we love. I'm willing to explore that option. As opposed to writing off AI as "bad" for the industry and the creative role it can play. Appreciate all that you do, and I hope you have an "I got to level 50 on my hardcore play-through in Diablo 4 just to disconnect from the server" kind of day. -Carl K. Go Knights Go!

How’s everything going DD Is it just me or is that avatar game looking like it’s going to flop seeing that enemy ai being shot at and not reacting for a few seconds has got me worried. I know the game looks really nice yet I’ve always been a person who values gameplay over everything else in a game. So dukes am I worried for no reason or am I absolutely on the money with this one? Have a fantastic week dukes

9-11 is a reference to MGS 2

Hey fellas, I have interesting gauge of people’s hype for Starfield. I have to preface this by saying that I currently work for the company that fulfills orders for both Bethesda and BioWare merch and more recently, CDProjektRED (so chances are I had a helping hand in getting you your Starfield shirts) Anyhow, after the Starfield direct we had over a million dollars in sales for Starfield merch so I think it’s safe to say people are pretty sold on it. I guess that goes without saying when you look at the online responses being relatively positive. Besides that, wanted to quickly ask what Starfield merch you guys are excited about or maybe what you would like to see come to the stores? Maybe I can hit up the creative department with your ideas. P.S. if you guys ever want a discount on this stuff, lemme know on the show and maybe we can PM on Patreon and I’ll see what I can do ;) Have a “Starfield merch sales out the ass” kind of day

Hey Dukes, Long time listener, first time writing in. Even though my Xbox One shaped paperweight has been shoved in a closet since 2018 and haven't had any interest in owning an Xbox Series console until very recently i've been a fan of the show since day one back when it was Karak co-hosting alongside Matty, but when Cog first appeared as a guest on the show i felt there was something special there and you two haven't disappointed in these years of listening. You two together make listening to a podcast about an ecosystem i'm not a part of or had even the slightest shred of interest in one of the highlights of my week. I just wanted to thank the Dukes for all the hours of enjoyment and insight into the industry they've provided me over the last two and a half years! Have a "I bought a Starfield limited edition controller even though i don't own an Xbox Series console or play games on PC because the design is just too damn sexy" kind of day.

Hey Dukes, It seems that EA is realigning it's Studios into 2 organizations, EA Entertainment and EA Sports. Do y'all think that the recent success of EA originals like It Takes Two and Respawn's Star Wars games had an influence in this decision? Do y'all believe this may be a sign that EA has gained an interest in producing more single player focused games? And does the change up give y'all a little more hope for the next Bioware games?

Enraged Seahawk of Seattle

Hey dukes, been a busy few weeks for y’all I bet, hope big M and Chad C have had some downtime. 2 things, first cog said cyberpunk 2 was rumored last week, but I’m pretty cyberpunk 2 was an official announcement and the quest designer of the phantom liberty dlc is moving to Boston to do the new cd project red studio switching to creative director. He said this on dd episode 128 at 2 hours and 17 mins :). Cd has named cyberpunk 2 project Orion also. 2nd The Xbox showcase was spectacular and a great showing of games. My question is I would like some more genre diversity, we had a majority of RPGs from first party. Hellblade 2 and forza do sit outside, But it felt like too much of one thing, similar to Sony only doing movie games complaint. I am very excited for these games but I would love to see more action adventure stuff or exploring different genres and no fps games either. Have a kind of day where you can’t play starfield and cyberpunk and Spider-Man and ac mirage all at the same time

Hey Dukes , Another week has passed and I am here asking the question we are all wondering. Will we be getting a Destiny Lightfall spoilercast? Thanks and have a great day

Marko Krnic

Salutations, 30 FPS Matty and looks like No Man's Sky Cog. Long time listener, first time writer. I've always been a PS only gamer since the PS1 era, until this generation. Now I'm proud to say I game on all consoles and PC! On to my question: Did Xbox have an out of this world amazing showcase by default? Some of these games were meant to be released last year and in the early half of this year. Some of these new announcements probably would have been shown off sooner if Starfield and Forza didn't get such big delays. Just a thought experiment, because at the end of the day us gamers have very short attention spans and I don't really care what Xbox didn't do for me in 2022, I care about what Xbox is doing for me right now, and oh boy we eatin' good! Also a question for Matty, you once said that if this year is just a delayed 2022 for Xbox, you would be disappointed. Do you still feel the same way, given that we now know 2023 is basically a delayed 2022 with the exception of Hi-Fi Rush. Regards, Marko from Down Under

Vonoran

Hey Dukes, Embracer is restructuring its studios and unfortunately some will not survive the cut. Matty, you have placed a lot of awareness toward Aspyr with all of KOTOR news, so any chance they survive the cut? Furthermore, either of you get that complimentary “free game” cause I’m still waiting for mine from ticket request?

Dillon

Hello fellas The ID@Xbox program has been great for many years, showing off incredible indie games from smaller devs, but, the way they showcase these games, with Twitch, has been quite baffling. Focusing more on hosts more than the games, but it seems like Xbox were listening. It was announced on Tuesday that the ID@Xbox Showcase is going exclusivity to IGN starting on July 11th. I know people aren't the biggest fans of IGN nowadays, but to me, this is a massive upgrade. Would love your thoughts, and as usual, have yourself an A1 day.

Afterschool we got to play outside while waiting for the bus. One day I strained my ankle playing football. I went to go rest on these benches at the bottom of hill. However my brother and his friend came, and I thought they were checking on me. Lo and behold they started beating my ankle with these thick, not exactly logs but bigger than sticks, pieces of tree! Anyways after they were satisfied I got to climb the stairs and hobble over to the bus and go home. Any stories about playground betrayal?

What’s up Dukes. With Gamer Christmas being over now and Xbox showing extremely well, what do think they update us on at the next big event Gamescom? They have typically used this show for updates on upcoming projects. What are the Dukes predictions for games that will be there? Really hoping this doesn’t turn into another drought on info for their upcoming games but that is where I personally think we are headed. All for letting the teams cook but the more updates the better. Thanks for keeping me entertained on these long 12 hour shifts Dukes. You keep a lot of sane during the work week. Have a blessed day gentlemen.

Hey Super Dookie Bros! My coworker and I were discussing what we think ID is up to and we have a theory we'd like to run passed you. We think ID is working on a rougelike version of Doom for consoles. We believe that Doom is the perfect game for a rouge like. The whole game is room after room of a bunch of demons trying to kill you just like a rougelike. However more importantly there is the mobile version of Doom which is a rougelike. This wouldn't be the first time a Zenimax studio put out a mobile version of something that eventually came to consoles. Bethesda put Fallout Shelter on phones and then later added vault building to Fallout 4. So is this a possibility and would the Dukes be interested in a rougelike Doom? Have a mediocre kind of day.

What up dookies? So this doesn't have to be read on the show, but you can if you want to. I'm writing about that Morgan & Morgan ad that y'all are currently pimpin. let me tell you you guys should pull that ad. those people are the absolute worst. Not only am I just salty with them because they dropped me after already signing me up because the lady that hit me didn't have insurance. Before any of that even came to light and I was just a regular client. it was the worst experience I've ever had with a lawyer. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Morgan & Morgan please don't send your patrons there. Your doing them a disservice. It ain't worth the money. That's all I wanted to say have a... am I the only one that hates infection?.... kind of day

Do you think Matt Booty’s leaked emails where he’s admittingthat microsofts strategy of acquisitions is to squeeze PlayStation out of the console market and out of business will have an effect on wether that activision acquisition is approved or not

Hey Dukes, I have been a listener since day one and love the show. Thank you for hours of fun and engaging content. As an old school gamer, I always love it when Cog mentions games like Another World, Flashback, Monkey Island as these are some of my favorite games of all time. If you had to pick a few franchises from the 90’s to come back to modern consoles, what would they be? I also wanted to shoutout to Wasteland 3 as one of the best rpgs from the previous generation (Matty always mentions that no one writes about it) and Somerville as one of my favorite games from last year. Thank you for all you do and please never change. Tefo

Miko Bell

What’s good Dukes, This write in is more a correction for Matty from last week. Matty mentioned that FF 16 has a stagger gauge, insinuating it possibly came from Sekiro. However, Final Fantasy in recent titles such as FF13 and FF7 remake have incorporated stagger mechanics in gameplay. Thank you gentleman and it’s been awesome to see how hyped you are every episode. Have a great week.

Hi Dukes, You both mention repeatedly that Game Pass is the best deal in gaming. I'd like to expand on that and say that the Microsoft Rewards Program is the best value service in gaming, period. Through saving points each month, I get Game Pass Ultimate for 0 of my British Pounds, AND through a combo of being half price on store sale, and using rewards points, I purchased Elden Ring for Series X for zero Pounds, Dollars, Clams, Bones, etc you get the idea. A very good day to you sirs!

Howdy Dukes, FFXVI reviews have dropped, Nintendo/Sony/Xbox have outlined their 2023 timeline, and we are basically half way through 2023. Wanted to get your vibe check on this year. - where do you think this year will sit in terms of all time gaming years? - GOTY so far? Do you think that changes? - what do you think will be the 6 games nominated for GOTY at the game awards? I hope you have a RPG fans are eating good type of day. -Cody Herb

Hello fine gents, With the release of ff16 on Playstation, digital foundry has delved deep into its performance. While the game looks great, they mentioned you should definitely play it in quality(30 fps) mode. Performance mode struggles to stay anywhere near 60 fps while exploring. Though combat performs better, it drops to a very ugly 720p. Will fans lambast them the way many have Starfield? Is simply giving the option of a very unoptimized performance mode enough to save you from the internets wrath? I saw so many people state they wouldn't be buying Starfield because of the 30 fps cap, and yet ff16 is best experienced at 30 fps according to the best graphics analyst in the business.

Hello Inclusive Dukes, With the incoming release of Sonic Superstars, are you guys excited for it? It might've been lost in the shuffle with all the Xbox Showcase news you covered but it looks great and seemingly will be just as polished as Mania thanks to that physics engine being used again. And with all the SEGA love coming to Game Pass with Persona, do you think Sonic is the next franchise up next? Have a 'Xbox sure has an expansive package' kind of day.

Good afternoon Dukes, As we settle in for the long wait 'till September, what are some of your recommendations to hold us over until then? Any hidden gems hiding in the ol' Microsoft store or GamePass? I'm thinking of starting up a Jade Empire play-through, myself. Have a "BioWare is a shell of what it once was" kinda day

Good afternoon dukelords, Last week there was question about the faces of Xbox. With the direction Xbox is going with western rpgs. Do you think fans of Xbox will have a problem with games that don’t have a set path. I personally love the direction they’re going in. But I could see fans having a problem since it’s technically not a Just One. Have a I can’t play anything right now cuz starfield looks so good kinda day.
