Hey Cog did you ask God Howard how Elder Scrolls 6 & Fallout 5 are coming along, if so what was his response?

Kazden Risk

Dukes! Like you, I am totally hyped for Starfield. While I thought TOTK was a lock for GOTY from myself and games media, I'm now wondering -- do you think Starfield will be able to dethrone Zelda as the Game of The Year both for gamers but also The Game Awards? Thank you and take care!

Max Davis

Hey Dukes - I’m interested in your thoughts, (assuming that Activision/Blizzard deal goes through) about how Blizzard games will be implemented into the business. For instance, world of Warcraft has its own subscription service, and Diablo 4 will have a seasonal pass. Do you believe these will be folded into GamePass, or will there be some sort of “GamePass Blizzard Tier” or something? Thanks and have a “we need more party member RPGs” kind of day

Howdy Duke, Hell of a showcase 2024 is shaping up well with the 11 first party games we saw at the show case i have a question for you both .. How many Developer Directs will we see in the next year? much Love from David from Ireland

Christian

Hey dukes! With a new Forza Motorsport game coming out it got me thinking, whatever happened to the Project Gotham Racing series? It seemed that it was going to be the premiere racing series before Forza came along and took that crown. Why do you think that series didn’t take off? Kudos for all your work in last stand and have a nice day.

Anonymous

What up Dukes, of all the first party games at the xbox showcase, which do you think is furthest from release? Thanks!

Adam Turley

Hey dukes, How would you rank the stable of upcoming xbox first party rpg's (excluding starfield for obvious reasons) I would probably go 1) fable 2) outer worlds 2 3) clockwork revolution 4) avowed My list preshowcase would have probably had avowed at the top. Curious if any of your rankings changed after the showcase too. Have a thank go the giants and Mets both dodged carlos correa kind of day.

Jamil Bhatti

Hey Dukes and Lord! hope ur still doing well as we both need you! have you got a chance Lord to play Starfield in LA? I heard a few select got too! What was ur impression?

Jamil Bhatti

CNN report that the FDC is expecting to block trade. Should we be worried if it goes to federal court?

Okay Dukes. The only important question: did the Showcase make the Redfall debacle obsolete? Did Phil Spencer know this ahead of time, giving him the cahones to do that Kinda Funny interview? I wish you all a sweltering hot summer day kind of day!

Hey Dukes, I appreciate you and the excitement (Matty, I watched your post-showcase breakdown) but I think it's all too premature. We have no real reason to think half those games won't launch broken. I'd bet money Starfield will launch buggy as hell. Also - Hellblade 2 was announced in 2019 and all we got was another cut scene trailer with "2024". That's deeply disturbing. Toss a coin, that thing might get canceled. Basically, I don't think we Xboxers should be celebrating yet. We've essentially just been promised the world... but we've been promised before. Take-it-easy.

Adam Razak

Hello, Duke boys! I must say, Sunday's showcase and Starfield Direct were really damn good. The highest compliment I can give it is that if Xbox didn't offer Game Pass on PC, it would have convinced me to purchase an Xbox Series X. As a lifelong PlayStation fan, I think Sony needs to take some notes from how Xbox pulled this off. Thanks and have a "woke up on the shores of Hawaii in the nude" kind of day.

Gettings Dukes, Ubisoft just showed off their Avatar game, and the immediate discourse i started seeing, is that it just looks like a Far Cry game. This idea is being put in such a negative way, which leads me to asking: Why do people hate FarCry now? I never played the first game, but 2 is one of my favorite shooters, one of the best games of its generation. 3 was fantastic, so was 4 and 5. And once 6 came out everyone started acting like they always hated the franchise, blasting it as 'jus more FarCry'. I'll admit 6 didn't stick with me, but it seemed to have good qualities, and if anyone told me it was a good game, I'd believe them. What is your take one FarCry as a series, is the Ubisoft hate overshadowing the series as a whole. And are you looking forward to Frontiers of Pandora (aka AvatarCry)? Thanks guys, have a "I'm not an xbox owner, but I love your content anyway" kind of day

Hey Dukes, My question is for Matty. Given the massive scale and size of Starfield, coupled with the fact that you are no longer a teen, with little responsibilities, when you first played Todd’s last game, Fallout 4, how are you going to manage this game along side you work obligations (podcasting, reviewing games left and right) and personal responsibilities (relationships, home ownership, etc.)? I’m sure you are over the MOON with this game but you don’t have the time you had in the days of yore. Have a “I need the Time Stone to beat all these 2023 games kinda of day”? Regards Al

Heyo, my favorite Double D's. Quick question: what do you think will be the state of console modding for Starfield? I don't expect it will be there at launch, but do you think the potential of a marketplace/Creation Club system existing first would make them delay it? I see they're already selling weapon and armor skins through pre-orders, so I wonder if they'll have a DLC store ready early on. Thanks and have an "Adoring Fan romance" kind of day!

Hey Dukes, I want to push back a bit on your complete dismissal of the criticisms regarding Avowed's visuals. While the beginning of the trailer with the scene at the docks looked great, some of the quick shots further into the trailer looked bad due to poor textures and lighting. If you compare these shots to the stills released in the Xbox Wire article, you would notice a night and day difference. With that said, these are minor issues that will likely be addressed before launch, and we should appreciate Obsidian showing us the game as a genuine "work in progress". Avowed is my most anticipated game after Starfield.

Anonymous

Hey Dukes. After the latest Starfield showing, I can't help but wonder how this game's scope will impact the vision for Elder Scrolls 6. With Starfield being such a huge game with so many different ideas, it's hard to imagine the next Elder Scrolls can come close to being as ambitious. Any thoughts on where Bethesda takes Elder Scrolls?

towtansua

Wait, are you saying Playstation doesn't have total mindshare?

Ember's Arcade

What’s good, sloppy whoppers? That Xbox showcase was incredible, but I have reservations about Avowed’s showing. I’m not sure what I expected, or why my expectations were so high, but I was hoping for something more grandiose. That trailer felt like a market tested, paint-by-numbers presentation. I’m not writing the game off completely, since Obsidian has built more than enough good will to merit trust from players, but I am feeling lukewarm on it. What’re your thoughts? Cheers!

Hey dudes Gonna call out some hypocrisy in the community following the Xbox Showcase. When Xbox posted their graphic of all the games shown at the PlayStation showcase that are coming to their platform, they were applauded for their sass. Now, PlayStation do the same thing and they are petty? Come onnnn. We can’t be playing two different sports when it comes to expectations of these companies. What do you guys think?

Tyler Scott

I also see the same ppl that made fun of Aloy and Abby's looks now whiteknight for the Fable character in the trailer that ppl are making fun of. Just shows both the extreme sides in console wars are a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously. It's ridiculous and cringey.

The Snacksquatch

Hey guys, I’ve been mainly a PlayStation and Nintendo gamer my whole life. I own a series s because I got it very cheap but haven’t really touched it. After this showcase and doing some research on the game pass library, I think I might pull the trigger. With my switch being a primary first party machine and my PlayStation turning into a third party machine (Im not a fan of where PlayStation is heading under Jim Ryan and what their first party has had to offer this gen so far), I think it might be time to explore what Xbox has to offer. Thanks for all you guys do.

Mike Po

Dearest Dukes, So it's official. Starfield will run at 4k 30 fps on Series X. I may not be looking in the right places but it seems to me that this news hasn't garnered the catastrophic blowback that some might have predicted. Did the quality of the Starfield Direct go a long way in easing the 30 fps blow that God Howard dealt to us in his IGN interview? Personally I think it did but I'd love to hear the Dukes' thoughts on this.

ZipDavis

Hello Stargazing Dukes, The Starfield Direct was one of the rare times in games where I didn’t feel like I was being marketed to. Todd came out with no jacket and his sleeves rolled up and showed us that this game means something to him. He showed us his vision. It’s a love letter to Scifi and to all of Bethesda’s previous work. It felt more like Star Wars than the game shown by Ubisoft! I feel this is going to be special. I ordered the controller and collectors edition. IM ALL IN!

Anonymous

Hello Gentleman, What are your thoughts on the 30 FPS Starfield news? Do you feel it is important to review Starfield on Xbox consoles to give listeners a better idea how the game will run on the platform(s) most of us will be playing on (i.e. Not PC)? Thanks for all you do!

Meatball

Hey Dukes, Since Microsoft was a bit vague on many of the dates for next years titles, how about a little wager on who can guess the most accurate release order? Maybe have the "loser" donate to a charity of the winner's choice. The community could join in as well by picking a team and donating, regardless. Have a "Damn, those Starfield controllers sold out fast" kinda day!

Hey Duke Bros! Can Matty explain his disdain for the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series? Can Cog explain his love for the series? I'm team Cog and love me some goofy Ichiban antics. Have a "the great Lord Cognito calls you to the front of the congregation to explain your misguided ways" kinda day!

Anonymous

Hi Dukes! Long time fan first time writer. You all mentioned how Todd said “you and your friend might both go to the same planet, but have different experiences,” and I know that you took that as him talking about procedural generation. I think that instead, what he meant was that because each planet is so large, you and your friends might both land on the same planet, but in different parts, and have different experiences because of that. I have not read anything about the world being individually procedurally generated per player. I hope this puts your mind at ease. Also - is Contraband dead? Have a “my wife works in Jersey City and I’ve shown her pictures of Cog so they can take a selfie if she ever runs into him” kind of day.

Brian Wagers

Hey Dukes, Like most Xbox fans I am buzzing after this showcase. I think it blended great new info and expanded info on properties we already knew was coming. The two major themes for me were exciting first party titles and an expanded relationship with Japanese publishers. My question is which of those two things excited you more? Are you more excited about the projected output from Xbox first studios or the increase in Japanese company titles. Thanks and have a great day.

Josh Tarpley

Hello Sandwich Hoarder Matty and IchiBUNS Cog! Did you guys see the PC Gamer article on Avowed? (https://www.pcgamer.com/avowed-open-world-skyrim-rpg-size/) In it Feargus Urquhart confirms that while the project started as their take on Skyrim, they have since redirected development to be a more focused Obsidian game. The game will not be full on open world and will have heavy emphasis on companion relationships and storylines. This is all great news for me and only makes me more excited for the game, I don't need every game to be a 100 hour open world epic, what say you?

Anonymous

Hey Dukes, As a massive fan of Persona and Atlus, I was excited to see them featured so heavily as Xbox's showcase. However, as my primary consoles are PlayStation and Nintendo, I wonder how significant Atlus and Sega's new relationship with Xbox is. As someone living in Japan, I barely ever see Xbox consoles or product in stores or in enthusiast bars, and I can't imagine anyone here ever playing games like Persona or Yakuza on Xbox first. While the West is a different story, I can imagine many people are like me: even with these games being day one on Game Pass, I would still rather pay full price for them on PlayStation or Nintendo than play them on my Xbox. So, how do you think this new relationship will really materially help Xbox if most people wouldrather play on other platforms anyways? Thanks!

Hello Matty and Cog! Shout out to Cogs amazing community cross overs. Following Cog on twitter over the showcases was a highlight! It was great to see the shared love with other podcasts and personalities in the industry. Any plans to get more guests on the show from the roster of people Cog met? Thanks for the amazing content, Greg

Stephen Richard

Matty and Cog, Now that it’s been a couple days to digest everything and let all the games sit with us for a bit. I gotta ask if grades have changed. Matty are you still at an A+? And Cog have you raised from your 85 score? This new “Draft Class” from Xbox seems to me to be the best in my memory. Now I’m the spirit of keeping this asked by the same man, have you guys put any thought into your 2024 draft picks for fantasy?? And are you nervous some won’t make the 2024 timeline? Hope you guys have a “damn Matty and cog collecting them W’s and cashing out with all the haters’ knees” kinda day

Michael G

Hello gents, After our first (real) look at Avowed, there's been a lot of fuss made about the art style. But the comments made by the devs seems more concerning. They stated they didn't want to be Skyrim and instead pivoted to something more Obsidian-esque. Are you worried at all this means a massive reduction in scope? Do you worry that we will be able to smell the budget on it when it releases? Are we going to get another B- Outer Worlds, but with swords and magic? Have a "Starfield is giving us vibes like we haven't had since 2011" kinda day.

OTTAPPS

My Dukes, Shoutout to the last episode, you guys did a great job capturing all the moments of the epic Showcase so thank you for that. Now, onto the serious stuff…I want to go back to the Early Access for Starfield and how it dovetails with the promise of “Coming Day one to Game Pass”. In my opinion it ain’t Day One! I know it is semantics and before Corporate Cog starts getting all hot and bothered under his tight tie, I totally get why they are doing this. But as someone who doesn’t partake in Premium Upgrades or Season Passes (I don’t like to pay for stuff without knowing what it is), I am going to be sitting there, a loyal Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, having to grit my teeth and stay off the damn internet for 5 days why all you lot are off adventuring! Anyway, what are your thoughts on them continuing to push these scenarios as coming “Day One”? It feels like they are playing fast and loose with the terminology. Have a here comes Collision kinda day…

Hello Sirs, So, I was one of those that visually did not like what I saw from avowed, keep in mind I still have faith because it's obsidian and it's RPG and narrative/characters over the fluff for them. But basically I rewatched the trailer frame by frame at 4k and some of the assets such as human NPCs look AMAZINGLY good for a RPG, some shots look amazing with great lighting. While others seemed to have poor lighting? Not sure how to describe my issue some, there were also shots where an axe looked untextured while a sword earlier looked hypertextured, the spell particle effects looked lacking. So, this variation has left me feeling like this was pushed to be in the showcase and that the game is actually a bit further than we may expect. Do you feel 2024 is a safe date? And if so do you feel it will get the starfield treatment?

Reuben Barrett

Hey Dukes, After seeing the amazing Star Wars Outlaws gameplay showcase from the Ubisoft show, it got me thinking... Does Star Wars have a fairly large issue no ones addressed? In my opinion and many others, the sequel trilogy was terrible. It was globally panned and Rise of Skywalker actually took my number 1 spot for the worst movie I've ever seen on the big screen, and hell ... I saw Battlefield Earth! The point I'm trying to make though, is basically every single new Star Wars IP is actively avoiding that timeline, in my opinion due to it's shallowness and lore breaking aspects. Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Mandalorian, Jedi Survivor, Book of Boba Fett and now Outlaws all take place storyline wise before the sequel trilogy. Is Star Wars as a wider IP going to have issues with their games in that the further they push the story the more they're headed towards the blandness of the sequel trilogy, leading most of the games to be stuck in a timeline which people will be hesitant to move forward with? I mean I was absolutely psyched when I realized this new game was set between Empire and Last Jedi. Have a "yes, I over analyze Star Wars" kind of day!

Gabriel SG

Whats up Dukes, Great to see Cog is on the mend and congrats to Matty for all the quality content of late! Now we know the FPS for Starfield on Xbox, what platform will you guys be playing the game on? Whilst I understand why the game is aiming for a locked 30FPS it does not stop me from thinking Xbox seems like the worst place to play Xbox games. I am considering getting the game on Steam and using GeForce to run the game in 60FPS. Thanks and have a, I brought the worlds most powerful console, only to choose PC cloud gaming for the consoles biggest game, kinda of day... All the best, Gabe

phil mccarthy

Hey Dukes, How's it hangin' boys? I hope you're both well and Cog I'm delighted to hear you're on the mend. My question is simple, As I stated in my first ever write in, I'm a devout Playstation guy but most of all a lover of gaming so after the incredible Xbox showcase I've decided to buy a Series console but in your opinion should I pick up the Series X or the new 1tb Series S? Do you guys think with the storage now on par is there enough of a jump in quality to justify the extra cash which I'm more that happy to pay if there is. As always thank you for the awesome content have a "How damn good are all gamers eating right now" kind of day. Phil.

Nevets

Duke boys, It's time to lace those shoes and run! Will Matty and Cog play Sonic Superstars together or will Cog stay out of the playground? Also, why are people mad at $60 2D style games?

Mr. Scott If You're Nasty

Duke Gentlemen, I've been an xboxer since Halo and Gears of War hooked me so many years ago. My first reaction to the showcase was extremely positive, but I'd be lying if I didn't experience a little disappointment as there was no Gears or Halo news. However, with time, I've actually become more positive, as I'm excited about new properties xbox has (Starfield, Clockwork Revolution, and the midnight one) for the first time in a while. Xbox's plan seems to be taking shape, and we didn't even see all sorts of other IP they're working on. I'd like your thoughts on Xbox evolving as a platform, their future as a potential market distuptor, and their ability to pivot away from their pillar games. Have a good rest from holding that line!

RK128

Hello SEGA Superstars Matty and Cog, While not part of the Xbox Showcase, during the Summer Games Fest stuff, SEGA revealed a brand new 2D Sonic helmed by none other than Naoto Ohshima and his studio. Having a great 2.5D art style, the physics being pulled directly from Mania and even playable Amy... Thoughts on this? And do you both see Sonic joining Persona and Yakzua as the next pillar SEGA franchise to get the Game Pass bag? Have a 'WE ARE SO BACK' after HOLDING THE LINE kind of day.

RK128

Hello Ifrit Matty and Phoenix Cog, Did either of you check out the FF16 demo that released just after the Xbox showcase? I played through it and very impressed overall from the polished presentation, strong story and surprisingly strong combat.

Anonymous

Hello boys, I was wondering how the showcase changed (or reaffirmed) what you guys think the order of game releases in 2024 will be. Prior to the showcase I think everyone expected hellblade 2 to be the first up but with the shocking lack of combat gameplay I'm starting to think it might be the holiday game. Avowed on the flip side seems more imminent and I think it will take the slot we thought hellblade would be in. But I'd love to hear your thoughts on what the 2024 slate is looking like. Have a good one fellas.

Cai

Hey Dukes, Thanks for the fantastic content, these last few weeks especially. My question is to Cog and his infamous “just one” game. Is this ideal or goal necessary in the year 2023. Two things lead me to believe that this type of game would no longer shift the needle for Xbox, and we need to reevaluate what matters in how we assess the release of new games. First - the “just one” Sony first party style game is becoming somewhat trite over on the PS side - even if the quality is remarkable. Secondly - Elden Ring and TOTK. Neither is very narrative heavy, and Zelda is far from a graphical showcase. Yet neither has mattered in making them two of the best games ever made - regarded above ALL those Sony first party games in many circles. If either of those games were Xbox first party I doubt any of us would feel unsatisfied. So is the “just one” still the bar? I, like you Cog, would LOVE a Last of Us or Ghost style game on my Xbox, but I also know it’s not necessary for the game in question to be a masterpiece. I’m hoping Starfield will be an example of what I mean. Anyway, I know it’s something you’re looking for personally, but at large, is it fair to critique a game for not meeting this bar. Thanks, and have a “South of Midnight could be Xbox’s best game - even without a realism art style” kind of day❤️

Johnny Lamotte

Hey guys! I loved listening to your thoughts on the Xbox showcase. I think for the first time I disagreed with Matty. Don’t get me wrong, the games showed are games I’m very excited for, but seeing the same games over and over has finally hit me. I just want avowed now, I want fable, I want hellblade, etc. I feel like I’ve seen them announced 4-5 times lol. It was still an amazing show but I didn’t get super hyped. Do you guys think Xbox shows these games way to early? Nintendo is very good at (most of the time) showing a new game and it’s out in a year or less. I just can’t get excited for avowed trailers or fable trailers anymore. I would rather see Indians jones trailer or perfect dark. Anyways, love you guys! I didn’t forget you Cog! I’m glad you had a great time at the event and as always safe travels :)

Kickstand

Gents, can we talk about the sales for Xbox Series X/S? Xbox is way behind PlayStation. Can we expect that Starfield is going to turn the tide? Looks like they’re riding on a high after the show. Especially revolving around the new 1TB Series S coming out the day or two before premium access for Starfield launches. Two Dukes in One week, we are living good! Thanks as always, Kickstand

Anonymous

Hellblade has been shown off multiple times but Avowed and Fable have only had one CGI the same as Perfect Dark and Indiana Jones (not even a CGI really) so I don't understand the point you're trying to make. Nintendo can show games and release them soon because they have established their pipeline across all studios. Xbox is still getting there and the more studios the more strain it puts on that, but then again when you have that many studios eventually something will always be ready to go and you'll have to sit on games and strategically place them.

Anonymous

What up Space Pirate Matty and Space Cowboy Cog, Has the Hype Hierarchy of Xbox 1st party games shifted for you guys? Fable has always been my most anticipated but now it is much lower after that showing. I'm officially starting the #NotMyFable movement because the last thing I want Fable to be is a "cinematic gameplay experience." On the other hand, besides Starfield, Towerborne has risen to the top for me as it sounds like it was made just for me. What games have shuffled around for you guys? Have a "building a resistance to fight against the #JustOne movement" kinda day.

Anonymous

Hey Dukes, With the announcement of ID software helping on Starfield how we feeling about the shooting now? It definitely looks better to me. PS for all you TMNT fans and you want to join the The Foot Clan on Diablo 4 come on where our motto is m Tonight we dine on turtle soup!!!

Anonymous

Dukes, So the discourse surrounding Avowed has gotten bigger since the showcase, and I can see both sides. Listening to mondays podcast I completely agree with the Dukes that people complaining about how colorful the game is should stop. This is Eora and anyone who played Deadfire knows that the world is supposed to be vibrant. However, when it comes to a fidelity standpoint I completely understand the disappointment. Especially when the creation engine game that is going to be a 150+ hour RPG, looks better than the UE5 40+ hour RPG. Still excited for it even with the lack of graphical overhaul. Thanks Dukes and have a “The one game I thought would be the least divisive is the most divisive” kind of day.

Anonymous

Hey boys. I know we like to clown on Ubisoft (and usually for very good reasons), but can we take a minute to appreciate their recent Forward event and the overwhelming display of GAMEPLAY featured there. Sure Skull and Bones only really got snippets and a musical number, but the Ubisoft event was highlighted by their four marquee games (Avatar, AC Mirage, SW Outlaws, and the Crew) and each had significant and extended gameplay showings. In a day and age where most publishers are reluctant to show raw gameplay (or as close to raw as you can get), I think we should applaud Ubisoft for taking us back to the good ole days where a game was actually showed off and not just a cgi video with Adele singing in the background. Give props where props are due. Cheers.

Vonoran

Hey Dukes, Jez Corden’s scoop on project belfry came to fruition with Towerborne. What ever happened to Obsidian releasing a game every year til 2028 as per Jez Corden? We know of Avowed next year, Outer Worlds 2 perhaps in 2025? He said this would begin in 2022 and that last year we got Pentiment and Grounded? For context: Xbox Two podcast 190 timestamp 1:50:00.

Matic Bric

Hi cog and matty with todd howard saying that elderscrolls 6 maybe be his last elder scrolls game do you think he is laying the seeds that elder scrolls 6 may not only be his last elder scrolls game but also his last game his magnum opus if you will ending it with the game that began his career in the first place.

J Train

Hey Matty and Cog! I noticed the Ace Attorney collection is coming to Xbox which makes it all the more confusing why the most recent Mega Man collection was left out. Do you see this as a positive sign for going forward? I’ve never played these games but I think I might try them out this year. Have a great day, and the line was held!

Anonymous

🎵Dodododododo Breaking News! Sea of stars was just confirmed for game pass. Late last year, we got chained echoes too. Looks like Xbox is slowly becoming the place to play high quality indie jrpgs Have a "Why is little man doing black face" kind of day.

OneTick Haole

Hey Mr. RPG Matty and Mr. turn based Cog. First I want to thank you both for recommending Wasteland 3 again with the past video. You two sang its praises when it first came out and convinced me, a person who typically avoids turn based, to give it a fare shake and MAN! This opened my eyes to a whole new world of gaming and I haven’t looked back since then. That being said, turned base is eating good in gamepass this fall with Xbox announcing another tactical turn based game coming day one to gamepass. Gotta ask are we rocking with Lamplighters League on October 3rd? Or are we making a business decision to go elsewhere? Otherwise I’d love to hear your insight on the reveal trailer. Thanks Dukes, and remember to hold the line.

Nlindz27

Hey dukes! If you have one criticism of Xbox game studios upcoming titles what would it be? While I personally thought the showcase was top tier and almost everything shown has me excited, for me the lack of linear games is disappointing. Every major title is either a full blown RPG or has strong RPG elements. I love a good rpg but I really don't have time for many 50-100 hour games these days, I miss the days of a tight 10-15 hour campaign and feel like Xbox needs to diversify the portfolio to cater for people who just don't have the time. Have a starfield is going to take me 3 years to beat kinda day.

Captain Bon Clay

Howdy corporate Cog and marketing Matty, I’ve seen a lot of concern regarding the procedural generation of planets and the locations on those planets, I’ve watched the direct and interviews over and over again and from my understanding each planet and all of its geography and explorable locations are not procedurally generated but instead each planet is already made what is randomly generated is the “random encounter” locations such as a generic cave or raider camp, etc. key locations such as quest locations, lore locations or just the geography of the planet itself are concrete and are exactly the same in each game, what do you think of my analysis? If I am correct does this still bother you?

Nicholas Brilhart

Greetings "Corporate" Cog and "Marketing" Matty. With a successful showcase under their belts, Xbox looks to have a bright future ahead of themselves. That being said, with the exception of Bethesda Maryland, I have some worries about the management behind the rest of Zenimax studios. During the Extended showcase it was revealed that Fallout 76's next big update is launching June 20th. This of course is the same day as the launch of next major expansion for Elder Scrolls Online. This alone wouldn't have me worried, but coming off of Redfall it has me asking "What the hell are they doing over there?" Take care and have a "There is always next year Banjo" kind of day.

Howdy MachineGames Matty and Compulsion Games Cog! Both of your enthusiasm towards JRPG’s has gotten me thinking. I don’t think I’ve ever played one! As someone who likes the RPG genre, what JRPG’s would you recommend for someone new to the space? They seem intimidating to me, but I’m sure there’s some out there that are beginner friendly and easy to pick up. Thanks Dukes, and have a “Your Mets blew 3 leads and got swept by my Braves” kind of day!

Hey Mr. Matty and Cog, I have a small correction. Matty, on the last episode you said that Fable has a 2024 release date. However, there was not a release date in the new trailer. Unless you have heard something from a source, the release window hasn't been publicly stated. Thanks for quick turnaround in your coverage of the Showcase last week. I hope you all have a relaxing rest of the week.

Mike Po

Dearest Dukes, Did the two of you hear or read about Phil Spencer's conversation with Giant Bomb after the Xbox showcase in which he acknowledged that there is work to be done to reach out to Square Enix? He noted the progress that's been made with Capcom and Atlus but made a reference to needing to get on a plane to see Square Enix more. To me, this shows Xbox is committed to working on its Japanese games shortage, but do you all agree?

Dan Sing Izzy Rae Lee

Matty & Cog hope you're doing well, I've been debating getting a Series X or ROG Ally. I know that Gamepass on the handheld is a little different on PC than Console but would I really be missing out by going for the ROG? I'm thinking of going with the Ally and pairing it with the XG mobile, but if Gampass on PC is watered down compared to console then I'll just go with the Series X. What do you suggest? Can I main the ROG! or should I stay old school? Thanks for the all the content during night shift, cheers.

Hello Dukes , Once again I am here asking the question we are all waiting to be answered. Are we or are we not getting a Destiny Lightfall spoilercast? Come one boys we need more spoilercasts. Thanks and have a mediocre day.

Anonymous

Greetings Dukes, This is my first time writing in. I've been a listener since day one, but I have a shit memory, so maybe you've already covered this topic. What got ya'll into Xbox? I remember saving all summer before 8th grade to buy the original Xbox, Halo, Munch's Odyssey, and Dead or Alive. Those were probably some of my favorite games for years and made me a lifelong fan. I hope ya'll are doing well and have an EXCELLENT week after that showcase.

Hi, Dukes! With the vast amount of RPG's being announced by Xbox and the ones being still developed or coming out soon, do you think they are moving the identity of the brand from the "Shooter Multiplayer Box" to the Western RPG Box? Even the marketing of the brand completely adopting Starfield as the behind the box graphic and games like Fable being used as show opener or closers seems to give that vibe. Best, Alex.

Hey Dukes, “Step Out Moments” Todd said we can expect two of them. After seeing the direct, do you have any theories on what those two moments could be? Now that we’ve seen so much of the game, I wonder if those moments could lose their impact.

Hey Dukes, I'm seeing some pushback against Phil for using the term "collection" of games before the showcase. Do you think he could have been referring to the multiple Persona games that were announced from Atlus? By the way, Starfield is shaping up to be the goat! All the best.

What up Dukes! Man what a showcase right? Can’t wait for Starfield, I haven’t really used my Xbox much since Halo Infinite came out, play most 3rd party games on PlayStation. Can y’all recommend something to play that ain’t always online? (Diablo man, that kills it for me 😭, Hi-Fi Rush looked sweet but the fighting to the beat thing ain’t it for me.) Also, don’t have many Xbox friends if I can get some people to play with my screen name is vSilentangel.

Hey Dukes, Just want to shoutout Matty for the Wasteland 3 recommendation. I’ve been on the fence about playing the game so I decided to give it a go, and after getting through the tutorial section I gave the achievement list a peak and lost it at some of the achievements. All I’m gonna say is my STD collection quest in the Colorado wastes is a full go! Have a “I’m trying to save Arizona at a major cost to myself” kind of day!

Greetings Dukes, Just wanting to get your hot takes on some of the hot takes out there! It seems certain fan boys are having meltdowns to the point that even Sony devs are stepping up to tell them they don't know what they're talking about. It baffles me that some of these people are "professionals" yet clearly don't have any idea what it takes behind the scenes to make these things work. Can they really not understand the difference between an open world scripted action game and an open world galaxy simulator? Do they not understand that one is far more ambitious and has a lot more going on under the hood then the other? Have a, "If you don't think fable had gameplay in it you need to watch it more closely" kind of day!

Greetings Dukes! With Starfield on the horizon and 30fps on consoles confirmed, will either of you guys be trying it on PC first? Also, considering the crazy modding community around BGS games, do you guys think Starfield will do better on Steam than a typical gamepass title? Thank you and have a “God Howards globally illuminated rays of light shining upon us” kind of day!

Greetings dukes, Although I generally despise this “early access” feature that’s being sold to us like in the case of Diablo 4. Does Starfield having an early access put more pressure on the game having a smoother launch? Diablo 4’s launch was relatively smooth but if it had gone poorly surely there would of been chaos from all the people who paid the additional fee to play. Cheers and have yourself a collect sandwiches from all 1000 planet’s kinda day

Hey Dukes, First time writing in. I just wanted to say that I have noticed plenty of praise for the Xbox/Bethesda showcase online. Although me personally I wasn’t so moved overall due to the lack of real gameplay from many of the major triple A games shown besides starfield which looks awesome and largely carried the show in my view and avowed and closckwork which gave a couple small slices of gameplay and both look solid. To me it seems that people are so used to Xbox not having anything new and that exciting at their showcase that this one is being slightly overrated since the games announced and shown were not all the typical gears and halo type games and with more Japanese representation even though I’m sure none of those are console exclusive. What are you guys thoughts on this? Love the show, thanks for reading and all that y’all do, excited to write in more in the future :D

Hey constellation Matty and lord cog Kasuga. After seeing how well received the Xbox showcase was do you GENUINELY think this has been the turnaround XBOX needed? Because after the starfield direct Xbox has soared in sales etc. I hope you fellow dukes have a great and wonderful day. PS so glad you are all good cog after the surgery. I will definitely come to the USA to meet you guys.

Hey Dukes, I am I the only one who is devastated that there wasn’t any mention of Gears 6 or the rumored collection? This tells me we won’t see another Gears game until 2025 or later. RIP Gears community.
