Welcome, friends, to another episode of Constellation, Last Stand Media's weekly conversational podcast. This time around, the Brothers Moriarty are joined by Last Stand executive producer Dustin Furman and coordinator Micah Watson (both also co-hosts of our new Nintendo show, Punching Up). Dagan wants to know what hills are worth dying on. In other words, what do we believe so staunchly that we'd fight over it to the bitter end? Dustin delves into a favorite topic of ours: Fast food. He specifically mines us for our favorite fast food joints, as well as the restaurants we find most overrated and underrated. Micah took the time to do each of our horoscopes, delving into our respective signs from three different perspectives. How do we feel about what our star charts say about us? Finally, Colin brings a heavy point of conversation this week, one that seems strangely loose in recent weeks and months: UFOs. Whistleblowers are... well... blowing the whistle. Are we seriously about to find out that aliens are, in fact, real?

Hope you had fun Dahn Tahn, Dustin!

Oof the “cutting toxic family out of your life” bit really hit hard. I’ve been struggling with that over the last 3 years with my mom and sister. Cut them out of my life for my own sake but it’s been really hard.

MDoftheNorth

Dude...Del Taco. Respect. I usually opt for the homemade soba place next door, but not gonna lie, I feel a little pain every time I do.

Mama Micah

I’m sorry you’ve had to navigate that situation, it’s never easy. The realization of how much happier I was after taking the steps to separate myself from certain people was huge. And being less stressed out everyday made it worth the effort to create those boundaries. Wishing you the best! -Micah

It’s actually wild how much growth I experienced once I removed myself from their influence, my social life started to thrive, I adopted a dog, got promoted at work, met a girl and I feel like the future holds a lot more positivity now. Thanks Micah!

I love that Dagan prefaced his topic by saying it could be that Sonic is better then Mario, then immediately dives into a topic as heavy as racism haha.

Omar Rosa

Dustin, I'll make sure to wear a Wawa shirt to the TooManyGames event.

king_ryan_james

I LOVE Micah’s food takes haha they’re so funny! The KFC Famous Bowl is SO good!

Dustin, I feel you on the stress of buying a new couch. I just recently decided to invest in something of higher quality than my usual mid couches/futons I’ve had over the last decade or so. The Lindyn Fog Sectional from Coleman Furniture is suuuuper comfortable. I got one with an extra piece in the middle so it’s about 12 feet wide. Perfect for my girlfriend curling up on the chaise with the switch while I’m on the PS5, our dog stretched out on the other end and still plenty of room to boot. Just thought I’d throw an option out there for you to mull over. Happy couch hunting!

My dad always called Burger King whopper a Squishy. Am I the only one how heard that

Jessica Stelter

Colin, I don't know if Williamsburg VA is too far of a drive for you, but Mooyah Burgers, Fries, and Shakes are pretty good. They are kinda similar to Five Guys. It's worth trying!

Ethan Barcelos

As a California native, this Wawa-Sheetz talk is completely foreign to me

Colin you promised me credible sources if I wanted to look into UFOs more and I guess you forgot. I need you to drop these sources somewhere. I’m dying to know more.

Michael Mashpotato

Rutters>Royal Farms>Sheets>Wawa. In Allentown we have like 10 Wawas and each one is worst then the next. If Dagan drives up 309 one day then he should stop in Quakertown for Bojangles chicken. Phenomenal chicken lol. Also Taco Bell is the goat of all fast foods 😎

Videos games are special, no doubt about that. The interactive nature of them, the worlds the we get to play in - amazing. But, I will disagree that its the superior medium. Its not there YET. To compare Shakespeare or some other literary giant to any video game - I just don't see it. Colin made the point recently that FF XVI will have over a dozen hours of cutscenes as a justification for having video games as his primary medium. But, line by line, moment to moment, character development, etc.; will FF XVI narrative/writing "beat" any great fantasy fiction? I highly doubt it. I just played the demo, and there was some good stuff there, but a lot of it was filler/standard fantasy dialogue. I do think that this is where the issue comes from. The Last of Us is one of my favorite games and its narrative/characters are some of my favorite in video games. But on its merits, does it compare to the top 10 films? Top 100? I don't believe it is. There is also the primary issue of the moment to moment. When you read a book, you are engaging with and interpreting every line. Many, many authors have beautiful, and sometimes dense prose. Every single page, for hundreds of pages. How does invading a camp in Far Cry compare to that? Or stalking people in TLOU? Its engaging, not doubt, but is it really as intellectually engaging? TLDR; video games, from a narrative front, have a long way to go. And that's okay; the interactivity and player agency of video games cannot be matched by any other medium. It is therefore essential that people have a comprehensive art "diet" in which a person consumes books/movies/video games. As every medium brings something special.

I 100% agree with Micah on that 'family' not being an absolute MUST keep horseshit. I (thankfully) love my siblings, my mommy (yea I said it at 43 years old)...but I absolutely do not believe that just because you happened to be born with/related to someone, that it means a damn thing. Sure it's awesome when it works out, but I have always believed that you choose who your real family is. It's crazy to just deal with whatever someone throws at you indefinitely just...because?

Lou & Rei Loper

As for Wawa vs Sheets...I'll concede without concession, cuz it's true even though Wawa is NOT in fact garbage. Chick-fil-A is perfection, facts. Burger King is THE most inconsistent place on the planet (ironically I was eating very meh BK while writing this). Dairy Queen is shockingly underrated for food, especially their chicken strips. In-N-Out is overrated in my humble opinion.

Preach Dagan!!! Chick-fil-A most overrated fast food quite possibly ever.

Jason Hjartarson

Smells like maple leaves and moose!

Michael Mashpotato

There is a really great episode from South Park about aliens called Pinewood Derby where Randy Marsh accidentally discovers warp speed. I highly recommend this episode.

Jason Hjartarson

I can’t believe the vastness of the universe is just for ambiance

Brian Heninger

Chick Fil A waffle potato chips are amazing. They are super salty like McDonald's fries salt level. It's worth a try if you haven't had them yet

Asique Alam

Man, I really wish Jaffe was here for the UFO conversation.

Brian Heninger

Their fries are good but they you can get a bag of waffle chips. It’s a catering staple for them but you can sub your fries for a bag of chips

Man of Constant Sbarro

Please check out Wendy's "hot drink" training song from the 80s. It's better than it has any right to be.

Josh Correa

When it comes to the religious question when it comes to aliens. I’m actually listening to a conspiracy theory podcast with a Catholic perspective. And they actually do have a few episodes about ufo’s and aliens. And their overall conclusion is that if aliens exists it would make no difference to religion at least for Catholics since, they been asking these same questions for hundreds of years.

Lovat

What's the name of that podcast? Sounds like an interesting listen.

Ryan Zimm

Yo Dagan. DTown represent!

Josh Correa

It’s called Jimmy Akin’s Mysterious World. Yesterday I listened to an episode about blue orb’s at Skinwalker Ranch. Interesting shit he even has an episode of Bob Lazar lol

Hozi

As someone who works at subway in the UK, this episode discussed me!

Jordan Moyer

Dude Micah killed me this episode

Stefan Catinella

Ever since I read about the Grush interview I have gone on a deep dive into what people think is going and on. Lot’s of wacky stuff on YouTube. Would love to know what the scientists have been saying. Please let us know which interviews you’ve been watching.

drivebyjoe

I personally would love to see MK series make a MMORPG with a fighting style like Elder Scrolls Online

Josh Gamez

The more I hear Micah on podcasts, the more I want to be her friend lol.

Raymond keys

I very well may get banned for saying this, but Fuck Burger King lol. I also can’t stand those weird singing commercials they have. I probably will never got here again now.

Josh Gamez

The UAP topic is strangely meta for me given that a few other podcasts I listen to have actually been covering a lot of it recently (and one specifically is actually currently covering the Manhattan Project). Granted I've always been a big consumer of Paranormal content but still, the sheer volume now is kinda wild.

Josh Gamez

At least their ad campaigns of the last year haven't tried being quirky or current. They're literally just a jingle. I honestly respect it (WHOOPER, WHOPPER) Lol.

NeO JD

Sloppy Whopper 😄

Raymond keys

I think UFO’s that people aren’t necessarily Aliens, but things that are in the Spirit Realm. especially since they don’t emit any heat or infrared signal. If you are a religious person you may understand that there are angels and demons that can interact with the physical realm. I know people don’t associate Demons with aircrafts, but it may not be an aircraft that they are seeing. Now if they actually have Bodies and aircrafts hidden somewhere I got nothing. Lol I could be wrong but that’s my take.

Kevin Rood

Wendy's breakfast is great. Don't let Micah's opinion dissuade anyone from at least trying it. We're all well aware of the insanely eccentric taste in food that she has. :)

Chetsnooze

KFC and Subway are the worst made fast food

Kevin Rood

Also, pro tip for the waffle fries at Chick-Fil-A...order them well done. They will come out with a very nice crisp and will be hot!

Zorro

A little late to the party. I’m a European that is very pro American. Dare I say American football is the superior football? Yes, oh yes I dare say. As a European, I am in a position to say that the US has been a big plus in my life. Even though the US isn’t an old or ancient civilisation in contrast to many European countries, American culture has influenced me infinitely, through technology, tv, movies and video games, literature and, admittedly, food. To top it all off, every year I think of the US soldiers who saved us from nazi Germany and shielded us (in Western Europe at least) from the USSR’s influence. That selfless America was the epitome of is greatness imo. So, I’m happy we’re very aligned today. And even if I believe the EU should stand more on its own legs, I hope our friendship and partnership with the US lasts. I don’t think I’d want to live in the US though, I’m a social worker so my skillset is probably valued more in the EU. But I do believe that these last hundred years, the US is the greatest country in the world.

Jose Horrach

Micah has dead bodies hidden somewhere, I'm convinced.
