Hey CDC, Would love to see you guys do a live show in Kentucky. Any chance of that happening? Take care and safe travels to Texas!

Dillon's question about stepping away from games brought to mind how I've changed my gaming habits over the recent years. I started looking at what I like and don't like when playing games, how to weigh how much of each I can stomach and realizing you don't need to listen to the hype. I bought so many games trying to keep up and most games I never finished or plain didn't enjoy. Now I look at aspects I personally like when reading or watching a review and realize the reviewer has their own likes and dislikes. What excites them might not excite me and know when that is. I've saved money by buying games I won't finish or had so much hype then later realizing I don't like this genre or a gameplay mechanic. I've also played more of the games I buy because I'm not rushing to the next thing. Plus patches. In my best Schwarzenegger, "DILLON!!"

Hey boi- yo's, Colin- I have to agree with your old IGN colleague in regards to Metroid Prime being better characterized as an Action Adventure game instead of a 1st person shooter. Just like Portal is better described as a puzzle game even though in the literal sense it is a 1st person shooter. It reminded me of a twitter conversation I had where someone tried to say that Bloodborne is a JRPG because it's a role playing game made in Japan. My retort was by that logic The Witcher 3 is a CRPG because it's a role playing game on a computer. If I asked for a good JRPG recommendation and Bloodborne was suggested, I would never ask that individual for a recommendation ever again. It annoys me to no end that decades-old labels are on the verge of eradication because someone can point to a list on the internet that has BotW moronically included as a greatest JRPG of all time. Without proper labels, there would be chaos! "We live in a society people!" (George Costanza voice) The Official LSM Gaming Lexicon is needed now more than ever. -Evan from Queens

Greetings Sacred Wand-strokers, With the talk of Chris' wizard, Dominic Ricenbeen, I thought I (a Scot) would share some of the ethnically conscious names I came up with for my own characters as I go for the Hog Leg plat: Montgomery Scott Angie Thistlehead And, the one I'm most proud of Fanny McHaggiskilt Wishing you guys well for the live show, give that chicken a good fucking on stage.

Hey Super Sacred Bros! I just picked up a PS5 and have been playing Death Stranding and watching the Last of Us. I feel like these would combine wonderfully together. I would love to deliver packages between QZs, small towns or preppers all while avoiding clickers and bloaters. What games do you think would make an excellent hybrid? Thanks guys for the ridiculous banter at the beginning of every podcast!

G’day lads Per a report from Insider Gaming, Madden NFL 24 will be a “make or break” release for the franchise. And as an Australian who got into the NFL from playing Madden 03 onwards, I don’t know if EA or the developers can pull off the Hail Mary that’s needed to fix this. What happens if Madden 24 fails? Will we see EA lose the exclusive NFL licence? Have a good day, boys. (p.s. ESPN NFL 2K5 is the best American Football game of all time)

Hey Sacred Crew The mentioning of Jonathan Dornbush getting hired at Naughty Dog following his years of covering PlayStation at IGN got me thinking about other examples. Rich George gave skyward Sword a 10 and was later hired at Nintendo. Jose Otero reviewed breath of the wild, gave it a 10 and not even 3 months later was hired at Nintendo. My question is why hasn’t this been made a bigger deal and is this no different than being bought off for a positive review from IGN. Thank you for your time sorry for the long entry.

Blokes, short and to the point. Are videogames the killer app for VR. Meta is pushing work use cases and I don't think I would buy one unless we got to a point where every major stadium event like the Superbowl, Olympics opening ceremony or world cup final sold VR tickets that put you in a seat. Thanks, love all you guys do.

Hey CDC. I was wonder6if any of you have seen the trailers for "I am Jesus Christ", and what are your thoughts. I chuckled a bit and made a few jokes about DLC being a choice to turn the other cheek or orchestrate the fall of Rome. But our Facebook group actually had a few people who didn't like it and didn't see it as a joke. What do you guys think?

Just wanted to update ya’ll if you didn’t notice: Legend of Dragoon could be purchased a la carte. There is hope for us all.

Hammertime44

Hey Sacred Crew, First time writing in, along with also being a new patron. I just wanted to write in about Atomic Heart. I have been playing and having a decent amount of fun, but the people who were expecting it to be the new USSR Bioshock will probably disappointed. Overall I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the game if you played it. Thanks for all the content!

Hello lads, One of your rare - some may say mythical - female listeners here. I discovered Sacred Symbols while looking for interesting podcast reviews of the Last of Us Part II. Somehow, Chris' absolute desecration of one of gaming's most groundbreaking experiences didn't dissuade me, and I've been a happy patreon supporter ever since. After becoming a mother, I've had much less time for gaming. Traumatically, I once replayed the first half hour of Red Dead Redemption 2 four times because I couldn't get to the save point without the very rude small folk of my house interrupting - I hate that goddamn snowy mountain. Lately I've really enjoyed turn based card games like Witcher spin off Thronebreaker, which I can play in front of the kids and save and quit whenever I need to wipe some butts. I am obsessed with Colin's recent recommendation Slay the Spire, which I hope will soon become my first platinum. Are there any similar titles you three would recommend? Thank you for reading this.

[Read the errors for effect] Roight! You lot nearly had me topplin’ down da apples and pears when I heard you chattin’ bollocks about me lawst comment! I had to take the fag out of me mouth and flick the moist but away! Me and the lads downed some pints at the The Pig and Whistle and decided to block those tossers James Cordon and Prince Harry from returning home so you can deal with them as punishment. His Royal Maj has warned that he will wriggle his orrible inflamed sausage fingers at you if you don’t mend ya ways. Step down Dustin, you know we have the best footbawl chants in the world and you can’t handle the heat! That bein’ said, we accept your apology. Now, as Ambassador for the Colonies Baron Moriarty liked my fancy words I’ll take a moment to recommend my book In the Shadow of the Bear available on Amazon. It’s the dog’s bollocks!

Hello Sacred Legends. I think it's about time we stop teasing Jim Crying' Ryan. PlayStation has been absolutely killing it, objectively. When do we start calling out Lying Phil Spencer? The list of contradictions and lies are a plenty. It seems to me that Jim Ryan is the one laughing all the way to the bank. The ABK deal and all of ita controversy currently, seems to have Thrivin' Jim looking pretty darn good.

Hey there Sacred Simps, Long-time/first-time. Just HAD to join the Patreon to share a story with you after hearing about Dustin’s troublesome Chippers adventure on Valentine’s Day (I literally pressed pause on the episode, joined and began writing).

Michael (ObjoGaming)

Dustin, Colin. Be careful with your love of Chippers. I was a big fan of them. I had the app, ordered regularly, and they even sent me an email that I was in the top 1% of Chipotle customers. Then, one day it all came crashing down. I got the most vile food poisoning from them. There is nothing less pleasant than vomiting up steak, rice, and beans, but the worst was throwing up their salsa. I was miserable for about 48 hours, and over a year later I am still sickened by the smell of their food. Just be careful, okay. As Maria from The Last of Us once said "the only ones who can betray you are the ones you trust."

Hey guys, Following on from the previous week’s conversation of taking your spouse’s last name, I often think about this from my future wife’s perspective and wonder if she’d be interested in regaining her virginity. Thoughts? Jack

Gabriel SG

LSMs SS Division, Matty recently admitted on DD that he started the the phrase “Hog-Leg” I’m curious to hear what sort of punishment he should receive? Thanks and good luck in Houston, Gabe

Howdy Sacred Bimbos, I thought I'd get my wife into LSM via constellation. She has never cared for podcasts, but was listening for free off my back, she liked a few episodes. She has now moved onto a new podcast which she says is "better". Do I move out and take the PS5? Do I lock her in the boot and drink a fifth of vodka? PS. You guys could officially label this agony aunt section, you're getting a lot of relationship and life questions, a topic on Constellation maybe?

Hey guys, This one is for Colin: are you worried at all about the shake-up at Firaxis? They confirmed that the next Civ game is in development though I really wish Xcom 3 was out already.

Hey CDC, With Xbox and Nintendo's new deal getting the green light; are we likely to get a new Achievement/Trophy system that uncludes cross platform? A lot of people play games on multiple platforms nowadays and it would be nice to track all achievements/trophies regardless of what platform you play on. Maybe I'm just addicted to tables and lists, but would love to know what you guys think? Cheers!

Zach Wishnuff

Hello, Do you think that Nintendo has the foresight and ingenuity necessary to prosper as a console developer in an increasing digital future? And if not, who stands to gain most from a 3rd Party Nintendo; PlayStation, or Xbox? Thanks!

Kurt Lewin

Hey Sacred Crew. The commercial success of Hogwarts Legacy has come as bit of a surprise to me, sure it had a lot of marketing behind it and it's benefitted from being a good game, but it has far eclipsed the sales performance of previous Harry Potter games under the EA banner. It came as a surprise with it not having Harry himself or any of the books/films characters in it which I thought might have been a turn off for some fans. With that not being the case, do you think we could see some more licensed games that stray significantly from the source material and are there any examples you think would be fitting for this?

Anonymous

Hi Super Sexy Studs, With Hogwarts legacy being a commercial success why do you think they are not bragging about the millions they sold? I feel other games like Elden ring publicly said when they broke 5 million to 10 million sold. Wanted to get your thoughts on that and love all the amazing content!

Hey CDC, I recently found myself purchasing my 5th copy of Grand Theft Auto 5, this time the PS5 version, so I can finally play the golf mini-game in glorious 60fps. I've found that in just a few short years, this generation has broke me. With all the talk around here about frame rates and performance modes, I have to ask, what is stopping devs from allowing more adaptable graphics settings on consoles? What would be the downside of allowing a player to balance graphics and performance to their preference? Something like this is a necessity on PC because of the vast variation in hardware, but why can't we choose how we want to utilize the hardware in our consoles? Am I just spoiled?
