It's time once more for Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. For this episode, the Brothers Moriarty are joined by the co-hosts of Defining Duke: An Xbox Podcast. Cog wants to chat about contemporary television, our respective migrations to digital subscriptions, and how our viewing behaviors have changed over time. Matty is curious about the ways we interact with social media, and how we deal with the overwhelming negativity it can introduce. Dagan brings cooking to the table (pardon the pun), and inquires about the cast's culinary skills, tastes, and expectations. And finally, Colin expresses concern over the very existence of billionaires, a few thousand global citizens who are so beyond the traditional definition of "rich" that it defies their very sense of reality.

Working in state (but not local) government I can tell you that billionaire individuals can't just come in and do infrastructure projects on their own. It probably goes without saying, but unfortunately only governments have the legal authority to do a lot of the "city rebuilding" stuff discussed in this episode. And to my knowledge there is no clean way for a billionaire to donate millions into a government fund without the government being able to do whatever they want with those funds. I agree with the idea in theory but the laws and regulations prohibit the type of city saving discussed here. Great episode though!

Ketchup on pork chops is amazing. Dunking grilled cheese in ketchup is awesome too.

If a benefactor fixed any city, the people would just destroy it again within 10 years. If people don’t work for what they have, they don’t care if it gets destroyed.

Colin you’ve done a good job with different people you’ve assembled for this channel as a whole. Despite never having done a podcast together before, Dagan, Cog and Matty worked together really well. Same thing with the last constellation with Chris, Dustin and Dagan. It really shows how great this group is when you can change up the cast and it still always works. Loving this format thanks for bringing it back 👍🏻

I’m with Matty - I only watch TV with my girlfriend on weekends, usually like a movie or two. I’d much rather play video games, cancelled streaming services

The Best Colin! The Best!

Colin suddenly caring about people on low incomes is a bit of a weird turn given how much grief he's given those who think games are getting too steep in price on SS.

Colin has legitimately cared for the working man for as long as I’ve been a fan of his (8 years or so). His point is pretty obvious, games have been at a static price point since I began gaming in 1987. Costs to produce these products have increased exponentially. It’s not a sustainable model. In my opinion, cost of games can and should scale with the experience provided. Would you pay 99 dollars for a AAA TLOU type suer experience or a polished mmo lite tgat you will probably sink 300 hours into? I would without a doubt. Frankly it would’ve less annoying than nickel and dimeing people with season passes. Colins argument is clear. To be honest, making it seem like it’s some clear mutually exclusive choice is at a minimum an over simplification and likely disingenuous

“That’s way too happy for the British.” 2 Eps in and I’m fairly certain this is the best show you’ve ever had in your entire podcast run. Love it. Solid gang. ❤️

I can totally relate on having a ton of services for sports. Mine are all for soccer and the NFL. I have YOUTUBE TV for the Premier league and NFL, Peacock for the Premier League. Apple TV for the MLS and Paramount for SERIE A. its just insane lol

Forgive me if you guys get to this. Here in the midwest as a Comcast customer, I don’t even have the option to drop cable. I pay for 800mbps broadband and cable just comes with it. I could return my boxes but all I would save is the equipment charge. The basic cable package with no premium content is part of the package.

Would you ever consider convincing the Producer/Seducer Nick to join you on one of these? Probably very unlikely given how that community has thrown its own under the bus in the past, but man I miss Colin and Nick shooting the shit.

Just a small correction: HBO isn't independent. They're owned by Times Warner (which also recently merged with Discovery becoming Warner Discovery). And, yes Nickelodeon is owned by Paramount but they themselves are also owned by ViacomCBS. Overall: it's a whole mess that creates billionaires (segue to next topic)

I'm not even sure they are on good terms, doesn't even seems like any of the KF crew has reach out to Colin ever.
