Our holiday tradition continues as Matty and Cog gather to discuss the very best and worst that Xbox's most popular service, Game Pass, had to offer. It was a year that saw strong improvement in the terms of quality as last year featured technical Day 1 duds such as Dark Alliance, Back 4 Blood, and even Outriders that painted a bleak picture of weak titles taking the bag. 2022 restored the confidence which left the Dukes with many good pickings, but even then we still had some stinkers. Indeed, every light does have its shadow... or Crossfire X.

Some mad disrespect for Deathloop Matty haha, but I definitely agree it's Arkane's weakest outing.

Really enjoyed this one,but in the future you guys should maybe share lists so there aren’t any repeats. Just so you guys can cover more games. That’s just a nitpick, Im still glad I listened.

You guys need to play Chained Echoes right now. This game is no doubt one the best turn based RPGs of the last decade. I've been playing since the mid 90s and I would legitimately put this game up there with the greatest JRPGs of the 90s. Please give this game the recognition it deserves.

Hope you both have an amazing new year the two hardest working guys in the business deserve it so much. Matty one small gripe isn’t it fiancé not girlfriend now lol 🎉

Fun discussion of the year. I personally loved Tunic, Infernax, Somerville, and Nobody Saves the World. Especially, Somerville was one of my favorite games of the year as a fan of Another World and Flashback. Chained Echoes looks insane as well.

Funny I only played one of the twenty games listed. Death loop and I would probably put it my top five. I started Outriders this year so I would probably put it first if it counted but Vampire Survivor is a very close second.

Shoutout to Power Wash Simulator for sneakily becoming my most played game of the year. Thanks for the rec, Danny Brown, the famous game reviewer!

Matty's opinion on Death Loop is exactly how I feel about Elden Ring. There's a niche in the 'Souls community' that agree games like Bloodborne, Dark Souls 1 and 3, and Sekiro are better

Hi guys - love your show and thought it might be a good place to vent about something going on with game pass on PC. I recently resubbed to game pass ultimate because I bought my kids a series S for Christmas. After 2+ hours of troubleshooting, including an hour with xbox support across two tiers of teams, and a third that dropped my call - I cannot install games on my PC using game pass ultimate. For those curious, it's error 0x00000001. It's a shame because I'd love to have ultimate working for when more exclusives they have in development start to come out, but from my google searches and reading other posts on Reddit about it, this issue seems to have existed as early as 2020. What a shame considering it's a great value. I'll likely keep game pass for console for my kids, but will have to vote with my wallet and drop down a tier, likely permanently. Keep up the amazing show.

COG is 100% right about Madden this year. It's frankly a middle finger to John Madden himself.
