Ranking PlayStation's First Party Studios (2022 Edition, Part II) | Sacred Symbols+, Episode 254

As you're hopefully already familiar (and should go listen to or watch before proceeding), Episode 246 of + was the first of a two-part episode dedicated to ranking PlayStation's first party teams. In other words, a way to organize studios Sony owns outright through some loose metric. While we originally intended on doing this in a single podcast, the notion proved too unwieldy, and so today we offer our selections from numbers 10 through 1 (with 18-11 in the aforementioned previous episode). These are the big guns; some of them are easily among the best development teams anywhere in the world, under anyone's banner. And we're glad to spend about 100 minutes discussing our selections in great detail.

The only games that have hit me emotionally close to as hard as The Last of Us recently have been Death Stranding, Red Dead Redemption 2, and God Of War Ragnarok. It's rare for a game to have a great story let alone one that makes me cry and sticks with me but those all did for me

It's so sad to me that many gamers missed Astro Bot: Rescue Mission because of PSVR. It was my favorite PSVR game, and if you like Astro's playroom, it is on another level than that game. It was like the first time I played Mario 64... blew my mind.

Oddly enjoyed hearing about hours played towards the end of this episode, made me realize I've wasted so much of my life on a couple games in particular. My PS5 tells me I've put 2600+ hours into Uncharted 4 and over 1500+ into The Last of Us Remastered. Yeah you could say im a Naughty Dog multiplayer fanboy over here. I disagree in regards to having Horizon 3 take cues from BOTW/ER. All I want for the next Horizon game is free climbing like Assassin's Creed and underwater combat along with a far longer story campaign while the side content can be reduced. I don't want stamina or losing souls or this or that. No thanks. That would ruin the game for me.

Vigilante1717 is my PSN. If you send me a friend request just let me know your the guy from LSM's patreon. I love Factions, but I'm honestly not as into it these days. The cheaters and basement dwellers have ruined Factions. I think over half of the matches I play anymore have wallshooters and people getting out of bounds. We can only hope that ND intends to actually support the next game's PVP. U4 has some cheaters, but it's no where near as bad as Factions currently. So I'm usually wanting to play U4 instead for my MP fix.
