Hey CDC, Just wanted to give Chris a quick shoutout for shedding some light into his recent medical diagnosis. While reading it I noticed some similarities to some issues my wife has been struggling with recently and decided to share it with her. This has helped motivate her to also seek out possible remedies for her struggles with anxiety and mental health. Just wanted to let you know that your post has at least inspired one real world person to not be afraid to seek help. As for me, nodding along to this podcast's ventures into the dark depressing abyss of life is all I need. Hope you guys have a great 2023! Nicholas

Hey CDC, With it being the New Year I figured it would be appropriate to inquire if you guys had any resolutions when it comes to gaming. I’ve been meaning to go through the original Mega Man series for a while now, and with the Legacy Collection recently being on sale, I decided this is the year. Hope you boys have a had a great start to the year and keep up the great content.

Howdy boy, I just wanted to say after hearing Chris talk about Destroy All Humans I decided to pick it up and it’s such dumb but funny game I love it. Games like this and FF7 Crisis Core are the reason we need everything remade, not just for the fans of the original but for the new comers who just can’t stand playing old games. Cheers and keep up the good work.

Hey CDC, Just want to give a quick shoutout and say how fantastic the maiden episode of Constellation was. Over the years Knockback and Sacred Symbols were always elevated by the random conversations and hilarious tangents you found yourselves in. So to go and make a show dedicated to that with revolving guests is a fantastic idea. I look forward to the next episode and once again goes to show why Last Stand is the best gaming Patreon around. Keep up the great work and give that chicken a night off why don’t you.

Hey Colin & Sons, I recently started up another playthrough of Days Gone, and all that sticks with me is that this game has a cliffhanger ending with O’Brian that’ll unfortunately never be resolved. Do you guys have cancelled cliffhanger endings you wish would be resolved? From the armpit of CA (aka the Central Valley), Broderick F.

Hey fellas, Sony had their CES presentation on Wednesday and opened the show with info on the Gran Turismo movie starring Orlando Bloom and David Harbour along with a new, round accessibility controller. Jim Ryan mentioned that the PS5 will be more available to purchase starting today, after shipping through 30 million units globally. Their big announcement with VR2 is around Beat Saber with more information to follow. I already know your thoughts on video game to movie adaptation, but do you guys feel better about VR2 with this latest bit of info before launch?

Hey CDC! Quick question. What 5 items would someone have to put in a 90's horror movie style pentagram to summon each of you? Stay plowing that pheasant or whatever. Have a great 2023 and thanks for making every week better! P.S. Colin, play chained echoes. It's pure classic pixel FF or Chrono trigger nostalgia mainlined into your body. It is my trade for you opening my eyes to Felseal, one of the best tactics games I've ever played!

Hey fellas! Hope your holidays were great! This past year did you guys discover anything new y’all liked about video games? New genre, mechanics, or art design? If not any new interest/hobbies? Shout out to your new show constellation! It was a blast listening to y’all shoot the shit! Can’t wait for future episodes… and possibly new merch?

Hey CDC! New Patreon here! This comment is for Colin. I work for USPS and couldn’t help but notice how you mention Micah running back and forth to and from the post office to drop off all the orders from the merch store. Not a lot of people know this but you can go on the USPS website and schedule a Package Pick-Up so your mailman will know you have outgoing packages and you can leave them in your mailbox, front door, or even have him knock on the door. I’m sure you have lots of packages shipping and don’t want to bother but it’s always an option. I hopes this helps and thank you for all you do and keep me sane at my job! Love you guys!

Hey CDC! It's Miguel again, the proposal guy. I heard you guys read my question while I was driving and couldn't stop laughing. When I got home, I played the clip for my girlfriend and she found it hysterical and sweet. She said she would've love the proposal but now we have a funny story to tell in the future. We snagged VIP tickets so we'll see you all soon. Btw, I took her to the Virginia show and she thoroughly enjoyed herself. She's a new gamer so the Top 25 List helped alot. Be well and thank you for all you do!

Yo City C, I'll be quick. This question is about the newly announced accessibility controller project Leonardo. Do you guys think it's called project Leonardo because it looks like the tank our boy DaVinci designed or because it's designed to be ambidextrous. What do you guys think will be the final name? what are your general thoughts about this since there's already an accessibility controller from Microsoft and how will this compete with that? Will it be accessible on other platforms or only to PlayStation platforms? And as always remember Helghan belongs to the Helghast.

Hey Sacred Crew, Sony revealed at CES that the month of December was the biggest month ever for PS5 sales, bringing the total to more than 30 million units sold worldwide. Do you believe it will end up selling more or less units than the Playstation 4 by the end of its lifecycle? For comparison, the Playstation 4 had sold 35.9 million units at this point in its lifecycle.

Greetings, My question is simple. How do each of you pronounce this word: “Capicola” That is all.

Rob Kvasne

Dear Scared bois, I went into the CES conference with low expectations, but then Crying Jim Ryan dropped the mic after that huge Beat Saber announcement for PSVR2! All kidding aside he did mention that we would learn more soon. How much info do you expect us to get on a scale from 'PlayStation blog post' to 'PlayStation Showcase'?

Hey guys. Listened to Colin's spoilercast of Trails of Cold Steel with Mr. Matty Plays and was very gratified to hear that he really liked the game and especially its world, the political and class elements. I'm one of the listeners who strongly believed that he would like the series -- I had a question about it read out on one of the early pandemic episodes (Episode 91, an hour fifty-one in), in which I did broach the politics and history angle! Colin was a bit disappointed that we listeners weren't pushier about what he would like about the game, leading in part to him not getting deep into it until, well, now. But really, I bounced off the series a couple times myself before getting hooked, so I suspect the time simply wasn't right -- it's an acquired taste! If we had gotten any pushier -- well, there's a comment on another episode (153?) about how Trails fans are super-annoying, so we'd probably already pushed it as hard as we should push (or maybe even pushed a bit too hard!). Anyway. With that in mind, and given what appealed most in it, I want to give Colin a non-standard recommendation about what to play after Trails of Cold Steel 2. The Trails fandom will insist that he should go back to Trails in the Sky FC and play the games and arcs in release order. (And this makes sense for most players.) I suggest instead that he play the Crossbell games (Zero and Azure) after Cold Steel 2, then finally the original Trails in the Sky trilogy, before finishing Cold Steel 3 and Cold Steel 4. The reason why is that if the issues appeal so strongly, delving into Crossbell will be the next great thing. The role of the police, political corruption, imperialism vs local identity -- all of those meaty issues are what get grappled with in Crossbell. In any case, now that you're stuck in, please enjoy the War and Peace of video game series, and I look forward to future spoilercasts about it.

Hey cdc With the announcement of Gran Turismo 7 getting a VR patch when psvr2 launches do you think most 1st and 2nd party games will have this in the future? What games would excite you the most to have vr compatability?

Hello Sacred Crew! Can we show some love for Nate Fox? I feel like he doesn’t get his due even though he’s been the creative force behind Sucker Punch since the original inFAMOUS and was a game designer on the Sly games. Why don’t we hear more from Nate Fox given that he’s been around for so long and continues to lead great games for a studio that’s only becoming better? Thanks for all you do! Ryan Pacheco

9-11 is a reference to MGS 2

Colin, Chris The best pizza in America is not from New York, it is indeed from the west coast from a small town in Oregon called St. Helens. I know everyone will say they know where the best thing is but I’m pretty confident in this. If you’d accept my offer, I will mail you in a slice (using a vacuum seal and some dry ice) of this delicious pie and await your judgement if you’d accept my offer. Dustin this goes for you to if you’re interested. This is not a joke You wouldn’t regret it. Think on it!

What’s up brothers, If you could pick only one console (pre-PS5 generation) to play for the rest of your life, which one would it be and why? Hope all is well in your respective states!

Hey guys! I was wondering what you thought about the differing PlayStation inputs in Japan compared to the U.S. (In Japan, X and O are switched) Which one truly makes more sense to you? Thanks so much, and take care

The Great Santini

Happy New Year Boys, This one is for Colin: I’ve heard you reference the wonderful game that is Triangle Strategy but I’m pretty sure you haven’t played it yet. It’s a really good tactics game with great art and a solid story filled with choices that determine the course of the game both gameplay and story-wise. Any plans to play it? Or will you refrain since it’s stranded on the Switch for now?

Hello to my one and only Sacred Symbols (Colin, Chris + Dustin) Was it a mistake for Playstation to not allow DLC/Expansions to have Platinum Trophies? I just finished ManEater and there's a follow-up DLC called Truth Quest - however, as it is a DLC I can only get regular trophies with no Platinum and because of this I likely won't purchase or play it. Surely Sony is aware that trophies can drive sales to the platform (just like the Shovelware releases like The Jumping Taco). Why do you think they haven't reversed their stance on this yet? It feels almost like they are costing developers potential sales on DLC by not allowing Platinum trophies. I remember back in the early days of PS3/PS4 where even smaller indie games were not allowed to have a Platinum, why not adjust this DLC policy in a similar manner? Thanks for the great weekly content as always :)

Hello boys, Colin and Dustin have you taken a look at Chained echoes the JRPG style game that just came out on the 8th of December on PC and Ps4? It's a turn based pixel art game with Chrono Trigger style combat, mech/type suits like Xenogears, anthropomorphic party members like Breath of fire and from the short time I have played a story reminiscent of FF6. The art is beautiful and I think it will be a game that will tide me over until Sea of Stars releases in the summer. Thank you for all you do, I hope you all had a safe and relaxing holiday.

Hello Lads, Is there a gaming cabal in Japan? Yuji Naka was allowed to make bad games for 30 years with no trouble, but rocks the boat once, accusing Sega of ruining Balan Wonderworld, and suddenly there's mountains of evidence of insider trading. Is this the Epstein Island of videogames? Should Yuji Naka be under surveillance in prison? Is this Sonic's fault? I'm just asking questions.

Hello boys! With the announcement of Project Leonardo, a highly customizable accessibility controller kit in the same vein as the Xbox Adaptive Controller, now that we have seen this interesting controller what are your thoughts on the design? Also how does it stack up against the Xbox adaptive controller which has already been available for years? Also I was always under the impression that the Xbox adaptive controller had some kind of native support on PlayStation 4 & 5 yet as it turns out it does not! Do you think this was a mistake on Sonys part or justified in keeping non 1st party controllers and other accessories out of the ecosystem? Have a great day guys and welcome back!

Hi CDC, Wanted your guys’ current temperature on Forspoken. Has anyone had the chance to check out the demo, or know about anyone’s experience who has? My gaming time is limited so I haven’t had time to try it out. Thanks for all you do, and really enjoyed the first episode of Constellation! -Gandalf

Hello Sacred Men, I recently played through Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction, on an actual PS3, and found myself hating the last hour or so of the game. Enemies had too much health, fully upgraded weapons did too little damage, if felt like the final armor upgrade should have protected you more. It really soured the rest of the "okay time" I was having with the game. Is there a game where you remember the end of the game feeling really rushed or bad, like you can feel this part of the game was underdeveloped and not tested correctly? Thanks and hope you enjoy 2023.

Hi boys, I hope you all had an excellent break. Colin, in episode 221 of SS+ about Atari, you talk about people wanting to beat the shit out of Sony, and you were curious to see how God of War Ragnarök would fair in this environment. Glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike, what are your thoughts on why Horizon Fordbidden West wasn't given the same respect? Can we safely say now that the anti Naughty Dog agenda is real? My love to you all.

Hey guys, let me be blunt. Is Jim Ryan a good CEO of Playstation? Not “do we like him”, not “is he a real gamer” but is he a “good” CEO. Colin, can you talk a bit about past PS CEOs and how they compare? Thanks!

Hey Sacred fellas, no inquiry today but I just wanted to say as someone who works in an oil field tool shop, y’all have been very important in keeping me company during the long hours. Thanks for y’all’s company and here’s to a even better 2023 for LSM!

Hello Sacred Sluts, I read an interview with Craig Maizen and Neil Druckman about TLOU HBO series in the Hollywood Reporter where they confirm that they only plan on adapting the games. Druckmann specifically called out Game of Thrones which infamously had to go beyond the books. They have no interest in a “spinning-plates-go-on-forever show” like the walking dead. The article also notes that we should expect for this first season to cover the first game and for the second season to tackle the second game. I must say that this commitment to finality is exciting. This also makes me think that if they are planning on making a Last of Us Part 3 then surely it must be Naughty Dog’s next game in order to synergize with a potential season 3 of the HBO show. But what say you guys?

Hello Sacred boys, Happy New Year! Now that we are in 2023, are there any games from the past you guys are looking to play this year? I recently started playing the witcher 3 over the holiday break and I'm loving it. It's the 9th time I play the game and I can finally say I understand the hype and why people love it. The first 10 hours are slow but it's a commitment game where reading every glossary entry further develops the game. Anyway, is there any game you guys will be giving a shot at or giving another shot at this year? I hope all is well and hope you all have a safe, mostly happy, and healthy year!

Hello racist Colin, sexist Chris and lovely Dustin, I had a question about gaming etiquette. Over the Christmas I was at home and with family back and more people around my normal place being our living room was constantly bombarded by fuckers trying to watch shit Netflix shows. I stood my ground and decided when I wanted to I played here and if they wanted to watch kratos throw an axe at random things they could. Have you experienced something similar and do you think I am in the wrong. Happy new year and remember to give that chicken a rest

Sup Boys, If there’s one thing that comes from the on-going circus that is Microsoft trying to acquire Activision Blizzard; It looks like it will be the formation of Microsoft’s first union and the largest labor union in the videogame industry. Communications Workers of America reported that about 300 quality-assurance workers at Microsoft video game subsidiary ZeniMax Studios have voted to join the union. Looks like Microsoft confirmed with CWA that it would accept the formation of the union to try to build public support for its attempted acquisition of Activision Blizzard, who were already trying to unionize before the merger. This now makes Microsoft a pioneer within the tech industry regarding the formations of unions. PR stunt? Sure. Avoiding future legal ramifications and headaches? Most definitely, but however you feel about unions this feels like a massive win for Microsoft and any future efforts it has to gobble up more studios and talent. Hope you all enjoyed your holiday break. Keep up the good work as always!

Hey critical Colin, cool Chris, and dynamic Dustin, First off happy new year. I hope the break was grand, and gave you the much needed rest all of you deserve. I recently was home for the holidays spending time with family when I was apart of a food travesty. My parents have a foreign exchange student from Spain. While people were fending for themselves for breakfast I witnessed much to my horror and disbelief as this kid from Spain poured his milk in the bowl before the cereal. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I asked him how he could mess up one of the simplest meals he proceeded to proclaim that this was the correct way. Could you guys please set the record straight on how much of a (literal) cereal killer move this is? As always appreciate the content you guys put out.

Hey boys, This is a question for all of you. Over the years of anticipating game releases, what game made you the most excited? What game were you the most excited about playing before it came out? Mine is Haze. I loved Free Radical Design and waited so long for it. While I liked it more than anyone, it definitely was a dud. However, it was probably my most anticipated release of all time.

Timothy Bryant

Happy new year fellas. I don’t know if you remember Colin but two years ago almost to the day I informed you guys that I met a girl and had a feeling she would be here for the long run. I can happily say now that I’m still with that girl and we are getting married this year! Proposed over thanksgiving in front of her family and it was very cute. How was you guys’s Christmas break? Would love to hear how many days you actually spent relaxing.

Hi CDC, As we gear up for the HBO Last of Us series, I was encouraged to hear that the show runners have “no [plans] to stray from the video-game source material.” In the article below, Druckmann specifically cites the Game of Thrones’ production/source material woes in the later seasons. He goes on to say “We have no plans to tell any stories beyond adapting the games.” Does this indicate that we should expect a final Last of Us installment sooner rather than later? If the HBO series is successful might we see Naughty Dog’s hand forced into Part III production? https://www.businessinsider.com/last-of-us-wont-have-same-problem-game-of-thrones-2023-1

Good Day Sacred Gentlemen, With Naughty Dog’s recent blogpost, we got another look at what this Factions sequel is shaping up to be. I was initially convinced that this would be a Battle Royale, as the first concept art image showed what looked like a spore cloud closing in (representing a Battle Royale circle). But this new image seems to point towards a more cooperative experience and a shared world like The Division. Perhaps both are possible but what say you? What do you think this game will ultimately be? Thanks as always for great content, Dr. Pooplove
