Hey All!

Note: We will be recording a pick-up following The Game Awards to include our reactions to all that's revealed there. Keep that in mind when inquiring :)

It's time to submit your questions, comments, concerns, thoughts, and ideas for Episode 101 of Defining Duke. Great ways to get your write-up used: Be pithy, be topical, and be insightful. Walls-of-text, posts littered with poor grammar and punctuation, etc., are promptly (though respectfully) ignored.

As this is an Xbox podcast, be sure your submission makes sense within that realm. You have until Wednesday, 12/7 at 3PM ET to make your submission.

Hello Dukes, Last night Phil Spencer as well as Brad Smith (Microsoft's Top Lawyer) announced their commitment to bring Call of Duty to both Nintendo Switch and Steam. Now plenty of people will freak out over CoD coming to Switch but I want to focus on something that Valve's Gabe Newell said in response: "Microsoft offered and even sent us a draft agreement for a long-term Call of Duty commitment but it wasn’t necessary for us because a) we’re not believers in requiring any partner to have an agreement that locks them to shipping games on Steam into the distant future b) Phil and the games team at Microsoft have always followed through on what they told us they would do so we trust their intentions and c) we think Microsoft has all the motivation they need to be on the platforms and devices where Call of Duty customers want to be." A powerful statement from a huge market participant on PC. This statement is especially important when you look at what the CMA and EU regulators have been saying about Microsoft's grip over the Windows ecosystem. Here you have a platform holder, via Steam Deck, who has hands down the market dominance on PC and the most influential PC store front on the planet, says its trusts Microsoft's intentions. How do you feel like these statements can tip the scale in Microsoft's favor
