The news can be painful sometimes, and, well... get the medicine. It appears Activision, in its infinite wisdom, halted its developer Vicarious Visions (now Blizzard Albany) from remaking PlayStation 2-native titles Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 in a similar fashion it remade the PSone THPS games for PS4 in 2020. This leaves us crestfallen, wondering why such a money-hungry entity would leave such obvious cash on the table. We also get into copious news surrounding Final Fantasy XVI, DICE's stubbornness when it comes to Battlefield 2042, Creative Assembly's questionable FPS HYENAS, John Garvin's new Web3 game, various PlayStation Plus updates, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Are we being too harsh on The Last of Us: Part I? What's our gut tell us about God of War: Ragnarok's release date and review scores? Why do Xbox fans seem particularly agitated at us? Will Chris create the most successful OnlyFans in history?

For Chris; I saw you describing your perfect game, and also a few weeks ago you said you had seen other people play Elite Dangerous. I can't say Elite Dangerous Odyssey is an exact match for you, but it may be, particularly "Conflict Zone Mode". PC only though.

I was literally thinking about the game Neversoft made with Bruce Willis but i couldn't remember the name and then Colin ripped it out of my skull and presented it to me front and center. That was a surreal feeling, i hadn't thought about that game in decades.

Quote of the episode. "I like color"- Chris

Yall have talked about the neversoft Bruce Willis game Apocolypse in the past. Let me just say...as a kid I probably put 200 hours into that game. I remember it having a very odd control scheme, almost a twin stick shooter before we had twin sticks. Really memorable game but it probably sucks nowadays haha.

Too short an episode this week Moriarty. 😂

You guys were all definitely too low on the MC predictions for Ragnarok. I can’t see a world where this thing hits below an 85 at the ABSOLUTE minimum. I’d bet 92 at a guess. The gameplay is there from the first one so that’s only going to get better. It’s the conclusion of the Norse saga so you’re all but guaranteed some huge boss fight set pieces which was a big criticism of the first game. You have to imagine they saw the criticism of the map too so that’s probably been addressed to an extent. All they need to do is nail the story, and with the writer of Ragnarok returning from the first game I have confidence they’ll deliver as it means they have a clear vision for where they want the story to go.

Appreciate you 3 and the Last Stand Team. Just wanted to share some love to Chris on his comment about Xbox and PlayStation and is there a bias from the Media as a whole. I thought his response was well stated referring to why the Media as a whole is more “apprehensive” perhaps to the “new kids” on the block. Again, not LSM but the Main Stream Media. I didn’t think the listener was questioning you guys at all but rather the media outside of you guys. (LSM tells it how it is. I appreciate this even if I don’t agree) Appreciate you all sharing your opinions and thoughts each week. Take care…You Beautiful Bastards 🙂

Wild Arms. Yes! I'm loving the new version. I tried playing it on the Vita years ago & the game didn't grab me. Since I owned the game I wanted to just see how the PSX games run. Hours later realized I was still playing. Will continue this game.

Thanks for reading my comment! I like Chris' spectrum/fluid answer. It seems like remakes need remasters as part of its definition, remixes need either remake or remaster in its definition, and reimaginings needs all three in its definition. I didn't even ask about reduxs 😂

I can't believe you brought up fucking Ground Round! I don't think many people below a certain age even remember that place! I have a very specific memory of playing a trivia arcade game with my dad. It's one of the very few memories I have of him. RIP. Did you also have a Ponderosa on Long Island?

It is so hard to decide which subject moves me to comment after each show. I guess that is a good sign that you are choosing the correct material to talk about. Regarding TLOU, Chris speaks as someone that has played each game once. If you play both games as a badass with no regard for ammo or health, you will quickly see that the gameplay is not only very different, it is also industry leading. Part 1 is how they offset development costs guys. Every publisher/developer is looking for ways to do this. I, for one, much prefer Director’s Cuts and remakes of remakes to the micro transaction laden annual exploitation model the rest of the industry has embraced. I say bravo to Sony for keeping quality the commodity we are paying for. Even if it is more than once.
