An In-Depth & Critical Look At Starfield | Defining Duke Ultimate Episode 72

Starfield is without a doubt Xbox's biggest game of the generation as of this moment in time. It is a game they absolutely must nail to make a statement to current and future consumers that their platform is also a home to excellent exclusives. Beyond that, it is a tell-all of the impact Xbox can have on exclusives they invest in on a large level for better or worse when release day arrives. For now, we have seen a sizeable chunk of Starfield gameplay, and I (Matty) have assembled a supercast to discuss every ounce of content we watched. For those who are OG listeners of H.A.M. Radio Podcast, you'll recognize my former co-host from that show's inception up until 2018 has joined. Introducing LoneVaultWanderer aka Jonny Roses - a good friend, former Bethesda employee, and now content creator. Alongside is a more familiar face, Chris Ray Gun, to talk all things Starfield. From the good to the bad, this is our teardown of Bethesda Game Studios' most ambitious title to date. Check out Lone's channel @LoneVaultWanderer!

I personally can't wait for Starfield! I'm a huge Bethesda fan, so this looks like it's right up my alley!

I don’t like the “well it’s a Bethesda game” excuse when it comes to criticism of what we have seen so far. It’s ok to expect more. In terms of western style rpgs besthesda has been lapped by studios like cd project red with the Witcher. The conversations with npc’s look awful. Can they not move the damn camera around for a more dynamic conversation? I know it’s a Bethesda game but come on it’s been in development for over 5 years… and you can’t move a camera?

I think Lone Wanderer needs to try out for 3rd chair for the pod. Am I crazy? Lol

Craig Mcguire

I kinda like they stuck with it. Might not look as impressive as some cinematically angled shot but i think its perfectly fine for role playing and heavy dilogue options, and still gives it the BGS feel.

If the biggest criticism you can think of is that you can't move the camera during dialogue, I'd say they're sitting pretty.

superbadisfunny .

I'm curious cause y'all kept saying "Mods" being brought up to change things in the game or fix them but not everybody is on pc. So what's the conversation like when what you get is what you get on the console?
