Long have we anticipated a price increase for Xbox Game Pass and, in some cases, many had requested this. According to Brad Sams, this change is coming and it is possible it lands when the Activision acquisition is complete. It will be a different landscape for the brand then upon the completion of said deal likely to be in 2023 and it is largely expected that is when we will finally see more output from Xbox Game Studios. Before the price increase hits, reports have landed of a potential family plan incoming as well. We spoke at large about the status of Undead Labs and now the expose` has landed. Arriving via 12 sources, some former employees, there is much to discuss on the journalistic integrity of these reports and where other stories lie.

It’s a fair point to say I can’t just dismiss forza because it isn’t for me. I just need more games like gears of war. If Xbox leans more into arcane , ID software etc. from the 1st person perspective I think they would get more of my attention. Maybe buy a studio or 2 like remedy , they would fill a massive hole for them. A lot of people hated on quantum break but that’s still one game to this day I wish was on PlayStation.

Also we don’t accept or acknowledge Jim Ryan at all Matty. Like I kinda dislike him honestly lol so I didn’t even know he said that about game pass. That’s his problem tho he talk to damn much , and usually out the side of his neck 😂

A response to is not equivalent to equal there's a big difference boys. multiple planes crashed into the twin towers and we bombed the shit out of and occupied Iraq and Afghanistan for years. A response that was greater then the original action. They could have just sanctioned Iraq or done something that was a response but not equal to or greater then the original attack Playstation responded to game pass by making their own version of a subscription service which be realistic they already had they just expanded on it. The response doesn't need to be equal to or greater than to be a response. A response also doesn't need to be a direct competition as long as it's a response

Why would IGN pay over market value? That doesn’t make any sense to me.

Yeah I agree with Koepnick that hardcore Sony fans won't give Xbox any credit for Starfield. Not even Fable or Perfect Dark change their mind because those aren't new IP. Honestly, this is a very tiring and annoying subject when plenty of other people can find tons of great games on Xbox that aren't available on PlayStation. Saying Xbox has nothing interesting is like saying PlayStation has zero interesting exclusives if you don't like 3rd person action adventure, open world, JRPGs, etc. It's just incredibly narrow minded. Clearly Xbox has a better line-up of simulation, racing, first person shooters, strategy, online multiplayer options, etc. Just figure out what consoles fit your tastes and move on ffs.

In regards to the game pass family plan I imagine it will work like the YouTube red family plan, people link their Microsoft accounts in a way that you can’t access each others accounts and don’t have to use the same username and password, if it was Netflix style I would never use it because I don’t trust people with my account like that, my friends play too much

Little weird hearing someone talk about ShopRite while I'm working in one while listening.

I would give credit if starfeild , hellblade and others are good. I do agree that we shouldn’t discount Xboxes strengths just because they don’t interest us. Tho I do see certain studios they have that have a lot of potential for Sony fans to like. Namely arcane being 1 on that list

Another great episode Dukes. Love the stories about E3 and the end was hilarious. Thanks for all you do.

I do want to be clear that I think Xbox should absolutely make more 3rd person action adventure and open world games. I enjoy that genre and so do the majority of gamers. It's a major deficit that needs to be made up for, but I just feel that it isn't the end all be all. Anyway, thanks for replying to my comment that was about the discussion generated by your question. I love to see people actually talking to each other in the Patreon comments.

I never got to go to an E3, but I’ve been to PAX West twice and it was very special. I always wanted to go as a kid to a big game convention and it was so awesome. Yeah there was some cringe people walking around and some needed deodorant, but I felt “cool” playing games early, met some fellow Big 10 Football fans in jersey’s, and did some tournaments with friends. Definitely a cool experience.
